Rajesh Ariyedathu Rajan is an Indian cardiologist and academic based in Kuwait. He is known for his research on heart failure and has developed the Rajan's Heart Failure Risk Score. He is the founder and president of the Indian Association of Clinical Cardiologists and has been involved in various medical research projects. Rajan is also a hospital director in Kerala and the Founder and Managing Editor of the Annals of Clinical Cardiology. He is currently serving as a cardiologist at Amiri Hospital, located in Kuwait.

Education and career

Rajan was born in 1979 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to Koodal Rajan A.V., a lawyer, and P.N. Vasanthamma, a teacher. He pursued his medical education at RUDN University, where he graduated with a degree in Medicine in 2003. Following his graduation, Rajan completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Surgery at the Bakulev Scientific Center in 2005. Rajan also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology from the Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences and later earned a Ph.D. in Cardiology from RUDN University.

In 2013, Rajesh moved to Kuwait to continue his research on heart failure and Cardio-Renal Anemia Syndrome. He received fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians (UK & Ireland), the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association. He invented the Rajan's Heart Failure Risk Score and, along with Kotevski, proposed a new classification for single coronary artery (SCA): Rajan's and Kotevski's TYPE-IV (R-IV-C), a modification of Lipton's classification.

Rajesh is the Founder President and Chairman of the Indian Association of Clinical Cardiologists. He has contributed to the Indo-Soviet Cardiology Research Project and has been published in medical journals.

Rajesh, a hospital director in Kerala, India, runs the Ayurvedic Center. He has been a cardiologist at Sri Sathya Sai Hospital and Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute. He is a charter president of the Rotary Club of Koodal and is currently the President of the Association for the Promotion of Culture and Education (APEC) in Kuwait. Additionally, Rajesh is the Founder and Managing Editor of the "Annals of Clinical Cardiology," published by Wolters Kluwer.
