According to a 30 under 30 listing on Forbes QuillBot has a user base that includes both free and premium subscribers. The listing also states that in August 2023, QuillBot was acquired by Course Hero. On August 21, 2021, Course Hero published an announcement stating it had acquired QuillBot.
Education
Research from 2021 proposed that QuillBot could potentially be used for paraphrasing tasks, but indicated the importance of English language proficiency for using it properly.
