Farida Rustamova (full name: Farida Hafiz qizy Rustamova, Azerbaijani: Fəridə Xafiz qızı Rüstəmova, born 1992, Moscow) is a Russian journalist of Azerbaijani descent.
Biography
Farida Rustamova was born in Moscow in 1992. In the university, from 2012 to 2014, she worked in Gazeta.ru.
She worked and wrote for RBK Group, BBC News Russian, Meduza, and TV Rain.
From the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Rustamova works as an independent journalist in her own media named FariDaily and Explanatory note (in Russian: Пояснительная записка), they both publish texts in Russian and English. Maxim Tovkailo is the co-founder of these publications and a partner of Rustamova. In the past, he worked in such media as Vedomosti, Forbes Russia [ru] and RBK Group.
Professional work
Rustamova has published a number of 'groundbreaking investigative pieces' on Vladimir Putin and his inner circle, cited by the world-known mass media.
Her articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Daily Telegraph, El Confidencial, The Moscow Times, The Blueprint, on the websites of the Wilson Center's Kennan Institute and OpenDemocracy and others.

She is a two-time winner of the Redkollegia Award:
- in May 2018 for 'The story of how MP Slutsky sexually harassed two Russian journalists' for BBC News Russian;
- in March 2021 altogether with Svetlana Reiter and Alexander Ershov for the 'From gene bombs to classroom curriculum' for Meduza.
