Historical Background
Surkh Dheri (Sarau Dheri) (سرو ڈھیرئ) village was founded by Mian Burhan Uddin bin Rahmat Uddin bin Zain Uddin bin Shakur Baba bin Sair Uddin Baba in 1840. Similarly, Baghicha village was founded by Mian Anab Gul bin Aftab Gul bin Sawab Gul bin Abdul Wahhab bin Habab Gul bin Biyaz Gul (Musalay Mian) in 1916. Mian Unwan Uddin bin Burhan Uddin built a garden and a mosque near the road, along with a well, in Baghicha.
When Mian Anab Gul separated from his brothers and built his house in Baghicha, Mian Shakirullah and Mian Abeer Uddin also built their houses here. Gradually, more houses were built, and the settlement grew. Mian Mahmud Gul built a house and a garden on 8 jeribs (~4 acres) of land. Mian Abeer Uddin also built a house and a garden, and the village became famous as Baghicha. Mian Unwan Uddin allocated a place in his garden for a shrine. Although the garden no longer exists, the shrine still does.
Surkh Dheri (Sarau Dheri) and Baghicha were separate villages until 1980. However, Major Mian Faqir Ahmed bin Nazir Ahmed bin Nauman Uddin Ahmed bin Burhan Uddin used his influence to merge them into one village in 1980, making them part of Mardan instead of Swabi. Due to population growth, the two villages became one, and the name was changed to Baghicha Dheri. The Baghicha Dheri Union Council was inaugurated by Governor Sarhad General Fazle Haq on December 6, 1981.
Mian Burhan Uddin established "Darul Uloom Burhaniyah" in 1850. In 1880, Mian Unwan Uddin founded a school, which was upgraded to a middle school in 1897. Some notable students of this school include:
Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Khan, former Chief Minister
Aeen Sahibاعان صاحب, Inspector General of Police

A famous battle (Ghaza) was fought between the Sikhs and the Muslims in near Mardan Kalpani, in which two Kaka Khel martyrs, Mian Rahmat Shah bin Umar Baba bin Ghous Baba (Baba Khel) and Mian Ghayas Uddin bin Rahmat Uddin uddin bin Zain Uddin bin Shakur Gul bin Sayar Uddin Baba, lost their lives. Ghayas Uddin is buried in the compound of the Baghicha mosque (Miangan).
While the Mian family, particularly the late Mian Abidulhaq and his relatives, inherited substantial land holdings, the overall land ownership among the Miangans in the village is limited. Despite these challenges, the Miangans of Baghicha Dheri have made remarkable strides in education and public service, fostering a culture of learning that has transcended generations. There is limited land ownership among these Miangans.
