Dermot Caradoc Hudson (born 20 July 1961) is a British communist political activist with close relations with North Korea. He is the Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, Chairman of United Kingdom Korean Friendship Association, and President of the British Association for the Study of Songun Politics. He is a former trade unionist and civil servant.
Hudson received a doctorate in socio-political science from the Pyongyang-based Korean Association of Social Scientists [ko] in April 2016, after submitting a thesis titled In Defence of Songun.
Hudson's works have been translated into Czech, Serbian, German, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Korean. Dr Hudson has also written articles for 'Covert Action Magazine ' , the Bangladesh 'Daily Folk ' and also in the past Pravda.ru
In 2021 Happenstance Films released the short documentary film A Friend of Kim about Hudson.
