The 1876 Missouri Secretary of State election was held on 7 November 1876 in order to elect the secretary of state of Missouri. Democratic nominee and incumbent secretary of state Michael Knowles McGrath defeated Republican nominee and former Democratic secretary of state Eugene F. Weigel.
General election
On election day, 7 November 1876, Democratic nominee Michael Knowles McGrath won re-election by a margin of 55,494 votes against his opponent Republican nominee Eugene F. Weigel, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of secretary of state. McGrath was sworn in for his second term on 8 January 1877.
