gramophone record

For your excelent work on Gramophone record link correction, I award you a star.. or how about a Starr. :-) Kudos, -- Infrogmation 05:28, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Many many thanks for your excellent work in bypassing the cricket (sport) redirect. You are officially my hero for today, and here is a gold star (apologies for the delay in recognising your efforts, but I have been away, and also apologies for awarding you a Soviet honour, but it is the best gold star that I could find at short notice). -- ALoan (Talk) 10:05, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Well, you seem to have allowed yourself some participation in wiki-politics again after all. As I indicated upon your retreat into anonymity, I'd happily nominate you for adminship, but I don't want to pressure you into even more wiki-politics than you want. Just know that the offer is open if ever you care to take me up on it. --Michael Snow 23:39, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Yes, I certainly agree that just because you're an admin doesn't mean you actually have to do anything with it. I just didn't want to drag you into something you weren't willing to accept. Anyway, I've posted the nomination at Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship. Please reply there to indicate your acceptance, but of course you know the drill already. --Michael Snow 01:46, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)

edit attributions/usernames

Re the attribution changed of '82.83.144.214' on my talk page, my account has since been changed from 'moeffju' to Matthias Bauer. If you could please reattribute the edits from 82.83.144.214 to my new user, thanks. --84.57.4.25 18:32, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC) Oops, forgot to log in, sorry. --Matthias Bauer 18:36, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hi Kloy. Could you make an edit somewhere from your IP (24.205.168.78) to confirm that this is you? Thanks — Kate Turner | Talk 03:52, 2004 Sep 4 (UTC) Reply: Ok, I worked on my page and "Covina" using my user ID and this IP address. --User:kloy1334 23:35, 3 Sep 2004 (GMT -7)

Hello. Thanks for attributing my old edits to my current username. I appreciate it. I can't spot them on the "my contributions" screen, but that's alright. Also, I haven't been checking the Changing attribution for an edit page, so I'm not sure of what happened there.

Once again, thanks. – Mackeriv 03:04, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Oh, I couldn't imagine I had more than 500 edits, so I didn't even bother checking for a next page. Sorry. It's odd, but the first edit at the bottom of my contributions list was exactly the first one I made with this username. That's why it seemed strange to me. They are all there, yes. Thank you. – Mackeriv 03:22, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Thanks. Burgundavia 09:39, Sep 5, 2004 (UTC)

That looks like a uni address; I don't remember requesting the attrib change, but I'm sure it was me. You can change or leave it, as you wish. +sj+ 17:38, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

The reason there are no edits there, I think, is because they already got assigned to me months ago. :) Snowspinner 22:29, Sep 4, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the reattributions. There is just one more that would be nice, despite the fact that the page got merged with another: Loopholes in optical Bell test experiments is another of mine, but the computer IP address was 81.103.218.50. Caroline Thompson 22:40, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I also wanted to say thanks for your work on edit attribution requests, including mine. -- Wmahan. 03:38, 2004 Sep 5 (UTC)
Thanks for that work on attribution requests. Thanks a lot!!! --kunjan1029 05:37, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

And yet another thanks! That was quite a piece of work you did. Thanks! -- Chris 73 Talk 07:33, Sep 5, 2004 (UTC)

Dear Kate, Not at all. Only a few of those edits before febrary 14 2004 are mine. I believe that Tomte and Middle-earth belong to those.--Wiglaf 07:45, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Many many many thanks for reattributing my old edits (as well as those of so many others). For such truly selfless and meritorious conduct, I have no choice but to declare you officially my hero for a second time, and give you a second gold star. -- ALoan (Talk) 10:57, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)

RFA vote

Hi Kate. My comment was part of this very long discussion with User:Anthony DiPierro (see warning) about deletionism. You seemed to be of the inclusionist persuation. My comment was more tongue-in-cheek, and an inappropriate jibe at inclusionism - I will remove it if you like :-). JFW | T@lk 00:12, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Namespace on cy:

S'mae Kate. Yes, I'd been trying to get the developers to change the language file without success, so that "Wicipedia" shows up correctly, for so long that I'd temporarily dropped the issue! If you could make the appropriate change I'd be very grateful. -- Arwel 11:48, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hi Kate, yes you might as well do the same change on Wiktionary, though it hasn't really taken off -- as far as I know we only have about 4 articles on there! -- Arwel 13:29, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for your help, Kate! I would never have found all these otherwise. You're an absolute champion. - Mark 01:18, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Early Congrats!

Barring any, say, rampages across multiple Wikipedias, burning down the servers, and assassinating our benevolent dictator, I'd like to give you an early congrats on your adminship! I'll be taking a forced leave of absence, as my blasted schoolwork is catching up to me. Also, I wanted to inform you that I refactored one of your comments *gasp* - your smiley face was coming out oddly :-P. Cheers! ugen64 04:29, Sep 8, 2004 (UTC)

Remind me to never go on Misplaced Pages again on a caffeine high at 12:30 AM... that wasn't your smily face, it was Kim Bruning's... *slinks away quietly, blushing profusely* ugen64 04:30, Sep 8, 2004 (UTC)

Developer Status

Hi, Kate. :) I wanted to apologize for apparently opening a can of worms. I've encountered your edits all over Misplaced Pages, you are the perfect example of someone who should have adminship. It really annoyed me that someone voted against you after my comment. I'm sorry. func(talk) 17:59, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Re: Username change

You said: "Since the Ahm account has no edits, do you have any objection to simply leaving the old account as it is?"

No objection at all; I was just trying to return namespace. No action required. Thanks. --AHM 18:55, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Regarding Template stub

Hey sorry about that, and thanks for the quick fix. I posted an explanation and communal apology right here. siroχo 06:04, Sep 13, 2004 (UTC)

To my guardian angel

Hey Kate, I really have to thank you for helping me not destroy this place. First the stub thing, and now the What the Bleep Do We Know?! thing. Bad week on my part I guess, but thanks again. siroχo

Re:Username change (Allyunion to AllyUnion)

Sorry, I couldn't confirm earlier since I attempted to move User:Allyunion to User:AllyUnion. When the page User:AllyUnion was removed, I forgot to go back and confirm it. It should be confirmed now. --AllyUnion 12:03, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Bookstores question

Hi Kate. Do you know how to change the list of bookstores which appears when you click on an "ISBN" link? We've found a couple of Welsh-language bookstores which we'd like to include on cy:, but we're not sure how to go about it! I think it probably involves manipulation of the array $wgBookstorelistCy on LanguageCy.php, but I was wondering if there's an easier way involving MediaWiki or Template spaces that you might know of. -- Arwel 14:47, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Kate -- Excellent advice, thank you - it's working very well :) -- Arwel 19:55, 15 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for checking into it. Actually, Rednblu added the listing, and it worked. For the life of me I can't see any difference from the way I did it. The instructions are pretty clear and I thought I had followed them. I had to leave the computer and go on patrol for a couple of hours. When I came back, it was done. I dunno.  :-) Thank you for taking the time to look into it. SWAdair | Talk 07:07, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
