in case you're wondering, the reason there is a different page for this song (than Auld Lang Syne) is because it is a completely different song- same tune, but different lyrics, and different cultural significance.
I think that this page should have its own page! However since it is going to be deleted, I recently put the lyrics and some information on the Auld Lang Syne page, and I do believe that it is ready for deletion. -Caryn (talk) 23:31, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
What exactly is the policy for articles about songs which share the same tune? I see the reason given to merge the Hotaru no Hikari article with the Auld Lang Syne article is because both songs only differ by lyrics, therefore Hotaru no Hikari is non-notable version of Auld Lang Syne. Yet this same argument can be used against the Star Spangled Banner having only different lyrics than the original Anacreontic Song, yet there are still individual articles for both those songs. Lets have some consistency here. -Moebiusstrip
Thanks, Deletionmaster General of Deletioncyclopedia, for removing this article completely, NOT merging the content into the artcle 'Auld Lang Syne' ass announced, just leaving a short note without the text which was contained here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.106.95.168 (talk) 16:45, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
This should be turned into a disambiguation page as one can currently not find http://en.wikipedia.org/Hotaru_no_Hikari_%28manga%29 or possibly other related articles. Brilliantwiki (talk) 21:31, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
