Reroute to Remain (sometimes abbreviated as R2R or simply RTR) is the sixth studio album by In Flames. The album was released on September 3, 2002 on Nuclear Blast. Reroute to Remain was In Flames' first big step towards mainstream music, and was rejected by most of In Flames' fanbase upon its release, but was eventually embraced. It is sometimes viewed as a transitional album between Clayman and Soundtrack to Your Escape. The album's easy listening breed attracted many new fans, and launched In Flames into the US metal scene and secured them a spot on Ozzfest. However, many fans of In Flames' first albums rejected this album and said that the band "sold out" because of its American influences from scenes like alternative metal, nu metal and metalcore. The lyrics deal with internal struggles and despair. The album Peaked at #10 on the Heatseekers chart and #13 on the Top Independent Albums chart. Two singles were released, Trigger and Cloud Connected.
