Template:Contains Korean text Topp Dogg (Korean: 탑독) is a hip-hop boys group from South Korea formed by Cho PD under Stardom Entertainment in 2013. Topp Dogg released 6 singles and did a world tour in 2014.
Career
Pre-debut
On march 2012, during an interview, Cho PD revealed his intention to create a hip-hop new boys group for his new label. The 25th, under the channel of their label, they released their first mixtape called “Bang”. Few days after, on april the 4th, they posted another mixtape called “Top”. Finally, they released their last mixtape “Y U Mad” few weeks after. Stardom Ent. Set a suspens and decided to introduce the member one by one. The first one was B-Joo, and the last one was Gohn. Topp Dogg first appeared on EvoL's real variety show on MBC Music. Member Kidoh was previously a trainee at BigHit Entertainment as part of the lineup for group Bangtan Boys(방탄소년단). However, they did their first official apparition in the MBC's "Show! Music Core" with the title Say it (말로해) on october, 22th, 2013. Member Nakta was previously a trainee at Jellyfish Entertainment and appeared in their Idol Debuting program, MyDol, as one of the 10 trainees to be chosen from to debut as VIXX(빅스).
ToppDogg's Kingdom
When Dragons and Knights finally made up, the conflict definitly ended. With Lions and Wizards, they created Topp Dogg. Four power united. Two years later, the members of Topp Dogg and the next ones (called UnderDogg) met for get a discution. However, a huge trouble was on going. The key for opening the Topp Dogg world disappeared because of Seogung and Jenissy. They were tired of Zero’s ice magic and produced an incident. The crafty magus named B-Joo controled the Gon’s dog in order to steal the keys from A-tom while he was sleeping. After that, they started to accuse Lions and started to become mad at them. Nakta, one of the Knight tried to conceel the group but without any success.Kido, another Knight didn’t have really interest in what happened et dragons declarend themselves neutral. Hojun, th magus who can see everything, tried to stopped everything but Kido, the magus who followed him stopped him before. While they keep fighting, the real world’s door opened and the key disappeared. The Dragon’s chief, Pigun sent A-tom and Kido in the real world in order to find they key back and in order to be able to close the door. Therefore, Nakta, which worried about Kido, followed him with Mano (from Lions) who wanted to show his power! “This key can fit everywhere, but, there is only one place I want to go, it’s close to you.”
2013: Debut Say It and repackaged Cigarette
In October 22, 2013, Topp Dogg made their first debut in the MBC's "Show Champion" with the title "Say it" (말로해). The song Say It was produced by Kidoh. The lyrics were written in collaboration with Kidoh, Jenissy, Yano and A-Tom. On October 24, 2013 the group released their first EP "Dogg's Out" composed by 5 titles included one solo from Kidoh (Girl Like You). They also made an MV for the single "(말로해) Say It" (with a dance version later). The album is available on CD and also for digital download. In December 19, 2013, Topp Dogg made their first comeback with their repackaged EP 'Dogg's Out' included a new title "Cigarette" (composed by Gohn) and a chinese version for "Sait It". They also released the MV for "Cigarette" where A-tom and Yano don't appear.
2014: Arario & Arario Special Edition
On January 13, 2014, Stardom Entertainment released a teaser for the second mini album of Topp Dogg. On January 16, 2014, Topp Dogg made their comeback with their second mini album titled "Arario" included 5 tracks with the lead single "(들어와) Open the Door" and held a 2nd showcase and fanmeeting concurrently with the release of a new album and music video. The same day they also started their first promotions through "M!Countdown". On February 12, 2014 Topp Dogg released a new music video titled "Arario" which is a follow-up track for their promotion and also the title track from their special album "Arario Special Edition" which was released February 24. This song get hip hop consonance mixed with traditionnal instrumental (they also mix it in the MV). Around march 2014, Stardom Entertainment opened a new youtube channel called Stardom On Air for extras videos such as cover or daily life's videos. They released an accapella version of Soyou&JunggiGo's single "Some".
2014: AmadeuS & AmadeuS Deluxe Edition
It was revealed that Topp Dogg will be making a comeback with their third mini-album called "AmadeuS" with the title track "TOPDOG" on 9 June 2014. Stardom Entertainment released pictures teaser before the official release, with B-Joo and Hansol, both dressed up like bandmasters. However, the group had to face to troubles about their 3rd mini album's release. Few days before the official release, the entire album was uploaded on social website such as Youtube. The label deleted as fast as they can and tried to fix it. AmadeuS is composed of 5 tracks with the lead song "Topdog". Topdog is a mix between K-pop, electronic music and the 25th Symphony of Mozart. In the MV, B-Joo plays the role of Mozart and Hansol is acting Salieri. They remake the existing conflict between the two musicians (because both of them composed a music called Amadeus). In the same time, Topp Dogg participated to the Dream Concert in the World Cup Stadium in Seoul, performing their new song Topdog. Kidoh didn't take part of the promotion of this album because of his solo project. During this same summer, Topp Dogg posted a cover of "Maps" from Maroon 5 and one of Taeyang's "Eyes, nose, lips". In August, 25th, Topp Dogg repackaged their last album and released the "AmadeuS Deluxe Edition" with three new tracks in. This album also emphasize the Kidoh's come back. The first new song is a song in collaboration with Chop PD called " I think this isn't right". Another song is only composed by Kidoh, Jenissi, A-tom and Yano which is Peekaboo (the MV were released on the youtube channel some times after).
2014: Annie
In order to celebrate their first year as official group and also, to thanks their fans, Topp Dogg released a new "old school" song. On October 16, 2014, they released the song Annie, which is a pun for "Anniversary". Beside, on the MV, Hayana from eVoL appears as "Annie". Annie is a pun for "Anniversary". Solos
As every members got their own talents, some of members of Topp Dogg developped solo's project. Yano released a mixtape "Yanoboutme: Fiction" which include 9 tracks Jenissi released a song in featuring with Say from Evol in order to thanks his fans for his birthday. The song is called "Love Letter". And finally, Kidoh released an EP with is leading song "Taxi on the phone".
