    Chris Crocker (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

    Long-term semi-protection: Recent persistent vandalism on a WP:BLP; this article is always a WP:BLP target. Flyer22 (talk) 06:57, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

    WP:Disruptive editing and WP:Edit warring has followed. Flyer22 (talk) 08:18, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

Article needs speedy updating in light of today's developments - . It was fully protected by User:GrahamColm, who has not edited for over two days and so has not responded to request. Request reduction to semi-protection, to enable non-admin editors to update. Ghmyrtle (talk) 12:52, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

    Spirited Away (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: An IP hopper keeps editing against the sources. At first refused to acknowledge the validity of the sources and when I added more started performing their own currency conversions etc. Refuses to participate in discussion on the talk page and discuss their problems with the sources. Semi-protection may at least force the issue on to the talk page. Betty Logan (talk) 18:25, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 2 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Short protection in the hopes that the IP hoping reverter moves along. Chillum 22:08, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

    Andy Murray (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. About 5 of 6 acts of vandalism in the last two days alone. Frequent vandalism in earlier months and years. Indeed, a look at the public logs for this article show that there have already had to be 16 (sixteen) temporary page protection measures put in place, which regrettably have not prevented the persistent vandalism. Other articles on high-profile tennis players such as Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have had to be indefinitely semi-protected due to persistent vandalism and unfortunately, I now feel that the article on Andy Murray has to be indefinitely semi-protected as well, because it is clear from the history of the article, that temporary measures put in place have not resolved the long-term issues of BLP vandalism. Kind Tennis Fan (talk) 00:12, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Let's hold off for a bit. The article does not have a high edit count (overall) and there are plenty of constructive edits being accepted by IPs and unregistered users. Safeguarding against BLP violations is what pending-changes protection is most commonly used for, and in my opinion it is doing it's job well. — MusikAnimal 14:38, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

    1993–94 New York Rangers season (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Slow moving edit war. An editor using a few related IPs, almost certainly the long indef-blocked SNIyer12, has been slowly and meticulously re-adding unnecessary content to schedule tables that has been reverted by multiple editors, often with requests to discuss on talk page. This user is notoriously unresponsive, however. Given that, and given his historical insistence on re-inserting over and over and over again until blocked, I'm left with the options of either (continuing to) engage in an a glacial edit war, or requesting the page be protected. Hopefully so that he will go to the talk page, but most likely just in the hopes that it will stop. I'd simply do it myself, but I'm obviously involved at this point. Semi-protection, persistent addition of unreferenced content. 117Avenue (talk) 03:14, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Declined @117Avenue: From what I can tell the IP editor seems to be editing in good faith, and is trying to expand the article. I suggest that instead of simply removing everything, I suggest you try to educate them on our sourcing policies (since it looks like much of the information could be sourced). They probably don't know what a talk page is, but if you put a "refimprove" template on the article and left them explanatory notes in your edit summaries they'd probably see that and hopefully start adding references. ~Adjwilley (talk) 06:04, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
Which IP? Over the course of the article various IPs have come and changed and/or added information. There's no way of knowing which user is correct. 117Avenue (talk) 06:07, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
I understand your concern, and it would be nice if they were citing sources. On the other hand, I'm not convinced that turning the article into a redirect is the best solution either, particularly since it survivied an AfD, which is why I'm reluctant to protect it right now. I'd say if an IP comes along and reverts you, slap another big {{refimprove}} at the top and make sure it stays there for a reasonable amount of time. Then if they still haven't added references, you'll have a better rationale for removing everything. That's just my advice, do as you see best. ~Adjwilley (talk) 06:34, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Fully protected Gave it 2 days... I expect the registered user is actually the same person as the IP who created an account so they could create the article, after reading your edit summary about people in the list needing to have an article. Yank Barry (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Unprotection: /semi-protection - I reasoned with the admin who fully protected the article into August of this year, who cited the possibility of editors getting into the legal dispute in which Yank Barry was suing Misplaced Pages editors as the reason for protection; and refused to unprotect. This is a very dangerous precedent to set, where in the event of a legal dispute, the article is entirely blocked off from ALL editors except for administrators. The link that they cited was this. Not only was fully protection only briefly mentioned, it was dismissed almost outright. I propose unprotection/semi-protection due to there being no guideline/policy/against one of Misplaced Pages's pillars for full protection. If this is not solved here, I will be heading to WP:ANI. This is again a very nasty precedent to set and should have no place on Misplaced Pages; The third pillar states that editors are free to edit articles, and this is counterproductive to that. Tutelary (talk) 14:46, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Declined, I would suggest taking this to AN/I Tutelary, it belongs there more than RFPP as it is more than just a simple unprotection request. kelapstick 20:13, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

    Bob's Burgers (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Unprotection. The page was recently put under protection because of a perceived edit war between two users (self included). The reality was that this was over the continued inclusion of false and misleading information regarding the setting of the show. User:EvergreenFir and User:Fyvrael have insisted, inspite of cited info on the page from the creator of the series, that the show is set in New Jersey (the info cited says there is no particular setting). Protecting the page doesn't accomplish anything IMO. --ChrisP2K5 (talk) 03:56, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Protection was applied through the closure of this 3RR case (permalink). As I noted in the closure, the alternative would have been to block both parties. Each user is totally convinced that they are right and that the only edit warrior is their opponent. EdJohnston (talk) 04:09, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
EdJohnston thank you for your closure of the AN3 report. I'm fine with the outcome and, as you say, removing protection will likely not result in anything constructive. I said on the article's talk page that if ChrisP2K5 decides to continue the edit war after protection is removed, I will not revert and simply file an ANI or similar report. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 04:24, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
EdJohnston, please review your decision and consider the entirety of the argument. EvergreenFir keeps adding incorrect information to the page, I keep restoring the correct info. He claims to have proof but it's mostly OR, and the citation I made is from an interview that directly refutes his claim. It's not an edit war, it's a user engaging in disruptive editing. --ChrisP2K5 (talk) 05:53, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Semi-protection: High level of IP vandalism. FK Hajduk Kula page is in the last few weeks and months, often targeted by vandals. Especially vandals with those IP addresses 195.88.12.94 and 188.2.224.85 I don't know why they keep vandalising fk Hajduk Kula page, but it is obvious that editors and admins have to react. There is a similar problem on serbian wiki redaction, also with fk Hajduk Kula page https://sr.wikipedia.org/sr/%D0%A4%D0%9A_%D0%A5%D0%B0%D1%98%D0%B4%D1%83%D0%BA_%D0%9A%D1%83%D0%BB%D0%B0 , and serbian admins decided to protect the page. If we look up on history pages and see often content changes and erasing references, it is clear that admins and editors on english Wiki, have to rise up some sanctions.Ajdukovac (talk) 04:45, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IP hopping user (66.87.80.57 / 66.87.80.0 / 66.87.83.2) continues to add unsourced British airdates for this series across numerous articles. Attempts to discuss the matter with them via their talk pages have only resulted in the user hopping to another IP to insert their POV. It's fine if the content appears in the article, but it must be properly sourced. Requesting 1 week protection from IPs and non-autoconfirmed users. I will be submitting copies of this request for the other affected articles. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:15, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Temporary full protection: Problems yet again with this article. Over the last couple years it has been pared down and tended to remove large amounts of dubious material from fan blogs and other inappropriate sources. As before it has become an edit war with both anonymous IPs and registered users engaging in some sort of inter-fan argument through the page (see the page history for details, including users calling each other out by username, etc.). Recent attempts to remove the offending/badly sourced material have been met with instant reversions from anon IPs and the aforementioned registered users. I would recommend at least 3 weeks of cool-down time with the article in its current state (the mentioned fan-blog sources removed until discussion can occur). Semi-protection: Persistent IP vandalism – An IP editor has been inserting unsourced figures on servicemen fatalities. When editors attempt to revert his edit he reinserts his unsourced numbers and insults fellow editors in the edit summary while doing so. His been doing this for the last week or so. Some administrators tried to block him due to his hostile behavior, but he is evading his blocks due to his IP address changing every morning. I am arguing for a temporary protection of the article at this time, but if he continues with the disruptive edits after the protection ends I will ask for a longer protection. Also, saying "An article written by Shmuel Schnitzer ... portrays how much the secular media in Israel is guilty of Anti-Orthodox bias" is stating an opinion about Schnitzer's article in Misplaced Pages's voice, which we shouldn't really be doing. I can't really fault the IP for removing that. — Mr. Stradivarius 13:26, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

Declined @The Banner: This looks more like a content dispute than vandalism to me. The legal proceedings have not finished yet, so mentioning them may be in violation of WP:BLPCRIME (although the reference is quite oblique). Also, the lawsuit concerns the former owners after they sold the business, so the IP has a point when they claim it isn't relevant. I'd suggest removing the passage in question for now and waiting for legal proceedings to finish. — Mr. Stradivarius 08:30, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
