WikiCup 2012 May newsletter

We're halfway through round 3 (or the quarter finals, if you prefer) and things are running smoothly. We're seeing very high scoring; as of the time of writing, the top 16 all have over 90 points. This has already proved to be more competative than this time last year- in 2011, 76 points secured a place, while in 2010, a massive 250 was the lowest qualifying score. People have also upped their game slightly from last round, which is to be expected as we approach the end of the competition. Leading Pool A is Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions), whose points have mostly come from a large number of did you knows on marine biology. Pool B's leader, Conradh na Gaeilge Grapple X (submissions), is for the first time not our highest scorer at the time of newsletter publication, but his good articles on The X-Files and Millenium keep him in second place overall. Wisconsin Miyagawa (submissions) leads Pool C, our quietest pool, with content in a variety of areas on a variety of topics. Pool D is led by Scotland Casliber (submissions), our current overall leader. Nearly half of Casliber's points come from his triple-scored Western Jackdaw, which is now a featured article.

This round has seen an unusually high number of featured lists, with nearly one in five remaining participants claiming one, and one user, New York City Muboshgu (submissions), claiming two. Miyagawa's featured list, 1936 Summer Olympics medal table, was even awarded double points. By comparison, good article reviews seem to be playing a smaller part, and featured topics portals remain two content-types still unutilised in this competition. Other than that, there isn't much to say! Things are coming along smoothly. As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Misplaced Pages talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Caution

You've appeared on too many articles I edit recently and I suspect that either there's some off wiki canvassing or that you are following my edits, in either case I'll have to report you as I see a pattern. In case you are editing in good faith and that I'm not right, please be more careful so that your edits do not even appear to be hounding. --lTopGunl (talk) 17:04, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi TopGun ! Let me make one thing clear, i am noway following your edits. Some days before I noticed that someone added Template:Kashmir separatist movement in one of my watchlisted articles, i found it was POV I came to template for deletion. And through them I got to other articles related to Pakistan and state terrorism which had original research POV , unsourced and controversial . And another point, i am giving proper reasons for my opinion. Sorry if I am sounding harsh, but it is not my headache if you have watchlisted all of these articles. Please stop harassing me with incorrect and self concocted accusations, as you have done on Talk:Battle of Chawinda. I sincerely hope that this wont be repeated. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ 08:08, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
How you got there is not the justification, the thing is you appeared on so many places simultaneously that it looked like hounding and I cautioned you civilly which you just labeled as harassment which is quite inflammatory. Not to mention you just turned up at two more articles I edit, one which I just created. I don't care how you get there... the end result is you are following and opposing me every where. --lTopGunl (talk) 15:47, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Searching(and editing) content to NPOV doesn't necessarily be hounding TG..Thanks ƬheⱾtrikeҾagle 10:49, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
You're wrong. You've to learn much about it... following another editor with any excuse other than copy vios is not ok. --lTopGunl (talk) 15:47, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
I am not following you, as I have said previously. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ 16:08, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Although I am not following you, you really need to read WP:HOUND. It says,"Correct use of an editor's history includes (but is not limited to) fixing unambiguous errors or violations of Misplaced Pages policy," Almost all the discussions I have commented on are cases of POV. I am not here to drive you out of here, I am just giving my opinions, and that too according the wiki-policies. Also see WP:DEPE, I have done no personal attacks on you and I have been civil. I don't like to be in useless conflicts, but if you will continue like this, I will be forced to go to an administrator. Hope this will not happen. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ 16:28, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
So you agree that you are following me to the articles where you think my edits are POV? Just before this you were saying you got there from elsewhere. You're not the first person who's started following me and I have a pretty good idea of these pattern of responses. It is in both our interest that you back off. You can not arbitrarily label some one's edits as a violation of a policy and then use that to follow. Since you've declined to consider my caution I'll not waste your time here anymore. --lTopGunl (talk) 16:34, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
See my first line. This justification was to justify Strike Eagle's comment. I founded most of those articles through the TfD. If I have to tell you how I got to every article I have edited, I will need a time machine. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ 16:36, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

About Acharya Bhadrabahu

Haha| No idea why everybody is saying that I am following him, maybe I am getting a lot famous! ;P You have been doing some great work. And by the way, that pic is one year old. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ 16:11, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
I'm not bothered about people following me as my contributions are always reliably sourced :o) Am going to be blocked for about a month or so, keep up the good work. Darkness Shines (talk) 17:56, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

June 2012

Your recent editing history at Pakistan Zindabad shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. lTopGunl (talk) 17:51, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Well I don't see any actual edit warring or violation of the 3RR. What I see is that you don't feel good that Vibhijain is editing your pages, and you're on the cusp of owning your articles, which ultimately will lead to you being blocked, not Vibhi. Leave that, whatever he edits, let him edit. Why are you so tensed about it? Have some Coca-Cola and rest. Forget about it. Thanks, Dipankan 07:25, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
@TopGun Consider this as my last warning, if you will continue making such baseless allegations, I will be forced to take this issue to an administrator. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ 07:28, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
