Ileana D'Cruz (born 1 November 1986 in Mumbai ) is an Indian film actress.
She made her feature film debut through Y.V.S. Chowdhary's Telugu-language film Devadasu opposite newcomer, Ram, but has also done a Tamil film Kedi. She has had prominent roles in films like Devadasu, Pokiri, Jalsa and Kick.
Career
She debuted in the Telugu language film Devadasu in 2006 starring opposite Ram and directed by Y.V.S. Chowdhary who spotted her in a Fair and Lovely ad film directed by Rakesh Roshan . The film was a blockbuster.
Her breakthrough came with her second Telugu film where she essayed the role of Shruti opposite Mahesh Babu in the highly successful Pokiri,in which she has done the role of an aerobic teacher. The film gained her good reviews.. She then made her Tamil language film debut alongside Ravi Krishna in Kedi. Although the film did not do so well at the box-office, Ileana was sought after by many directors and actors in Tamil for films which she eventually rejected due to her commitments in Telugu . Recently she acted with Pawan Kalyan in the movie Jalsa.
Ileana is presently termed as the most priced actress in south Indian film industry as she demands a whooping 1.75 crores as remuneration .Her 2009 film against Ravi Teja, titled Kick was declared a hit at the box office, following which she starred in the films Rechipo and YVS Choudary's Saleem alongside Manchu Vishnu Vardhan.
