The New York Funk Exchange is a Funk/Jazz band from Brooklyn, New York, and is known for their energetic show and soulful vocals. The Band consist of Serena Fotier (Vocals), Jamey Zebrack (Hammond organ,Clavinet, Fender Rhodes Synthesizers), Mathew Godrey (Guitar), Ray Holman (Drums), Matt Fox (Bass), and The Wall Street Horns consist of Michael Farrell (Sax), Mozard Pierre Jauc (Trombone), Nick Martino (Trumpet). They have been touring the Northeast since 2007, they are currently touring and playing all over the United states.
History
In 2003 roomates Jamey and Matty G Nakaya started an Organ Trio in their basement studio in Boston, Massachusettes. After seeing shows all over, they discover Funk music, and devoted the next few years into writing songs and shaping there chops. In 2005 Jamey moved to Brooklyn, New York and link up with Ray and Matt Fox via Craigslist. They played in a band called Dynamic Stew for 2 years, and when the band broke up, Jamey re-united his old friends from Boston Matty G and Serena to come start a new bad with his new friends from dynamic stew. Then in 2007 The New York Funk Exchange was born

Studio Albums On July 10th 2009, NYFE dropped their debut album Funkonomic Stimulus Plan which was recorded at Chung King Studios and Avatar Studios. It also features Christian Mcbride on bass on 4 of the 15 songs
