April Fools' Day
I am not interested in contributing to the foolery this year, but thank you for asking. Moni3 and Swtpc6800, you people are great, and I am looking forward to the final product.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 14:19, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Bummer, dude. How in the world am I going to live up to last year's main page blurb? Mentioned in 4 newspapers? My God, the standards! You're tripping that perfectionist switch in me that says if this year's main page blurb does not get mentioned in at least 6 newspapers I should just drink myself into oblivion. Which perhaps I should in order to write it... --Moni3 (talk) 14:47, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- I fully endorse drinking yourself silly, especially before writing anything. Anyway, you may have softened my heart. Feel free to drop me a note when you draft the blurb, and I'd be happy to suggest some tweaks. I just didn't want to make any promises because I'm anticipating a state of intransigent indolence for the rest of the month and beyond. I'm kinda like that missile-flinging chimp who's all over the news; we great apes are able to anticipate future emotional states and act accordingly. xo, The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 15:02, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- I tried once here, as an initial idea. Were you to flip us all the bird, I would have tried again. I might still, I don't know. --Moni3 (talk) 15:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- See, I think that's a little avant garde for practical purposes. Personally, I think the snarky tone is more appropriate to that of certain blogs than to a completely implausible blurb. On the other hand, there's no rule that says we have to go for "completely implausible" this year (like we did with Ima Hogg and George Washington (inventor)). If people want to try something new tone-wise, that's not a bad thing. Rats, we should probably be having this discussion on the relevant page itself. You're coming dangerously close to roping me back into this nonsense.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 15:13, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Perish the idea! Shame on me for wanting to collaborate on the funniest damn thing that will come out of Misplaced Pages all year. I think I'm a hoot, but clearly collective hootery should be practiced by many who share the gift. I think I need your assistance, if for one last hurrah. --Moni3 (talk) 15:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Aw, Moni3, I can't think of anything right now. You can't force inspiration, you know. And, yes, you are a hoot.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 16:48, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

- Surely your similarities with our simian simpatico are scant? Surrender of a sociable spirit seemingly spurs separation from one's stones. Эlcobbola talk 15:25, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- You should get a barnstar for that post alone, Elcobbola. --Moni3 (talk) 15:32, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- I have missed you, Elcobbola! Moni, I think you may have found your blurb co-author; he's got a way with words....--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 16:48, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Are you washing your hands of the murder that will take place? --Moni3 (talk) 17:37, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Please come back, Fat Man. Nothin against anyone else of course, but you do have a turn of phrase. You did wonders with those bannisters in Austin.Ferrylodge (talk) 21:07, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

The cat gallery
Is it still up somewhere? Someone messaged me who might be interested in it. Sticky Parkin 20:08, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- My dear, that gallery is done deleted--along with much of the rest of my frivolous userspace content, but I could ask one of my many admin pals to undelete the Catbook and Dogbook pages, if you would like to volunteer to maintain them henceforth.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back (talk) 02:01, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- Bollocks. So I now have to dissapoint Pooka and the Cat formerly known as Prince-I'm afraid I told them they would be stars. Sleep well, you bastard admin, whoever you were. Will nobody think of the cats. Ceoil (talk) 23:15, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- I shall sleep just fine, thank you, assuming I eventually get around to studying for tomorrow's exam; if not, I shall be up all night, but it shan't be on your cat's account. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 23:18, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- Would you be interested in some cheap Irish cat fur? Just the trick for noddiong off. ZZzzzzz. Ceoil (talk) 23:21, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Purely hypothetical question
Would you rather be this guy, or this guy? Yes, I know they're technically the same guy, but which one would you rather be? Mike R (talk) 15:11, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
