List of Megadeth band members
Musical artist

After guitarist Dave Mustaine was fired from Metallica, he along with bassist David Ellefson, guitarist Greg Handevidt, and drummer Dijon Carruthers formed Megadeth in 1983. Later that year, Mustaine then, becomes the band's vocalist, after an unsuccessfully searching. In early 1984, Megadeth recorded a demo, featuring new drummer Lee Raush, who replaced Carruthers. This lineup was extremely short-lived, and Mustaine and Ellefson soon recruited guitarist Chris Poland and drummer Gar Samuelson.

During the 1985 tour promoting Killing Is My Business..., Poland abruptly left the band, and was temporaly replaced by Mike Albert. Poland then, rejoined Megadeth in October that same year, shortly before they began work on their second album. After years of problems stemming from substance abuse, both Samuelson and Poland were fired from Megadeth in 1987, and replaced by Jeff Young and Chuck Behler, respectively. The following year, Mustaine fired both Behler and Young, and canceled their scheduled Australian tour, and replacing them with drummer Nick Menza and guitarist Marty Friedman, in early 1990.
