About Me
edit

Me

Shamone, I'm Realist. I'm 20, and am currently single (thank the Lord that I managed to get out of my last relationship still alive). I've lived in Mexico, Spain and am currently living in the UK. I speak Spanish, English (which isn't my first language so don't be too picky about my spelling and grammar) and even a little French. I currently study law, although I don't edit such related articles on Misplaced Pages. I'm going to try and spread my wings in that direction ASAP. For now instead, I contribute to Michael Jackson, music, media bias and political related articles, as well as review articles for GA status. In the future, I would like to be an admin, though there are a few articles I need to finish off first. I'm a proud liberal on social issues, supporting Social Democratism. I supported Hillary Clinton for President, although my views are oddly more inline with Barack Obama's. Since Obama won I guess I'm supporting him for President now instead. Although I am a liberal, I do not discriminate, I have good friends here and in the real world who are conservative. One of my favorite channels is Fox News believe it or not. Also (something random) I'm a vegy, 6 years and counting. I can't stand meat, it's just ugly LOL.:D

My extremely liberal views (a little more indepth)

As a "typical liberal" (Yes, I have been called that) my views include....

  • I love Muslims
  • I agree with killing babies
  • I hate my own race
  • I hate my own country
  • I like sexually promiscuous activities
  • The world would be better if we were all gay

As I'm sure your aware this is a conservative parody of my liberal ideology.

What I actually believe is....

  • Muslims are fine, stop attacking them already
  • Im pro choice
  • All races are equal anyone who disagrees is a bigot, an idiot misguided
  • My country is OK, it's done some good things and some bad. I don't need to wave my ugly flag every 5 minutes
  • I don't think you need to be married to have sex, but one night stands are not a good thing
  • I think marriage or at least "civil ceremonies" should be available to all people

GA Reviewer
edit
I support adding the GA symbol to the cover of Good articles, do you?

I am a GA reviewer here at Misplaced Pages. If you want an article nominated for review, let me know. As a model next generation GA reviewer, I fulfill my duties with a certain level of passion. To truly become a next generation reviewer one should:

  • Never be afraid to take on difficult or controversial articles.
  • Feel free to review any articles regardless of your background knowledge: a fresh set of eyes usually helps an article.
  • Improve the article yourself if possible; you want to help people not depress them with bad news.
  • When you have reviewed an article, be it a fail, a pass or on hold, inform the nominator personally.
  • Advise the nominator to put the article on their watchlist.
  • If you change the status of the review, again inform the nominator.
  • If you pass the article, why not suggest brief improvements to get it to FA. Encouragement really helps.
    • Well those are my thoughts, if you think there are more ways to improve the review process give me a bell.

All Around Amazing Barnstar
For all of the help, kindness, and support I have received throughout our work together on No Jacket Required, I award you this barnstar. Though unfortunately the FAN will most likely not go through, it was, is, and will always be a privilege to have worked with you on the article. Without your guidance and support, I doubt the article would have looked anywhere near as good as it does now, let alone even have a chance to be a featured article. With your help and guidance, I was able to turn an article from a GA to a very close FAC, which is something that is no easy task for an article about an album. Although the article won't pass its FAN, I want to thank you for your help and support, and hope that in the future, we can fix the concerns that were left to us by the users at the FAN page, and give it another go. Thanks again. You friend, CarpetCrawler 19:46, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
The Biography Barnstar
Realist2 has been awarded this barnstar by Dedalus for the tremendous amount of work spent by Realist2 in the period 2006-2009 in maintaining the featured article Michael Jackson. The King is Dead. Long Live the King.
The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar
Honestly, if it wasn't for all of your hard work, the Michael Jackson article would have been total crap yesterday. That would have been a disaster, IMO. If it was filled with false information, and a lack of sources, and all of that stuff, the media would be ripping Misplaced Pages apart. While for a bad reason, your work was seen by over a million people yesterday. That's certainly something to be proud of. Thank you for all of your work on Jackson's article! :) – (iMatthew • talk) at 12:49, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

  • I tried a redirect - which went up in smoke lol.
    • I can now do them correctly.
  • I edit articles and have got articles to GA.
  • I have started articles from scratch such as Thriller 25 (which is a GA).
  • I am a GA reviewer - although I'm annoyed by the confusing change in rules.
  • I have put articles up for GA reassessment - lol that Madonna reassessment was a nightmare.
  • I have put articles up for FA reassessment.
  • I have adopted editers.
  • I became a founding member of the WikiProject Michael Jackson.
  • I starting and initiating the WikiProject for Janet Jackson.

  • I comment at RfA's.

Wiki work I have done that has been plagiarized by major mainstream publications

The Times made an article over-viewing Michael Jackson's career which they released on August 15, 2008 Seen here. It is quite clearly plagiarism of the Jackson article, take a look at the August 14, 2008 version of the article. That article took me a long time to get to featured states, it appears that they did not acknowledge me or more importantly Misplaced Pages in their publication. I might add that The Times's (long time Jackson bashers) version was not as neutral as mine. I'm unhappy with the way they presented the information on vitiligo, the label dispute of 2000-2002, the critical reception of the Invincible album and the commercial reception of Thriller 25 (they only mentioned the "moderate hit singles", but not the successful album itself). I apologize to offended readers and the article subject, I do not endorse the manner in which the publication cherry picked information from the article to meet their own ends. In some respects it is probably best that they did not name us as their source. I only hope that the publication will learn from it's mistake and continue to produce neutral material.

My list of great wikipedian contributers - Your probably NOT on it

  • The Elfoid - We are like ying & yang but together we've made some ace articles.
  • Bookkeeperoftheoccult - Very nice, open minded, tolerant, accurate.
  • Andreasegde - So nice, uplifting, he rocks when it comes to those Beatles articles.
  • Happyme22 - Very nice, so so civil and patient, his work on politics is amazing.
  • Kodster - OMG, this dude has helped me with like ... EVERYTHING.
  • Rodhullandemu - Cool (for an admin :-O), gives some sound advise.
  • Gary King - Wow have you seen this guy's contributions to the encyclopedia? Amazing.
  • Jaysweet - Great vandal killer, great at dispute resolution, like his views, i think we would see "eye to eye" in the real world. I would happily nominate him for admin ship.

People who hate me - Lol this will grow with time

  • I'm sick of you unfarily riding my ass. Piss off. Ban me if you must. You're double standard is pathetic, and so are you.User:Ynot4tony seen here
    • Since your original whine-fest really was directed at me, then I was too hasty in pulling back my "piss off" and "ban me if you must" comments. A simple review of the crap I get warned for by you is more than enough to tell me you have some bigger issue with me. So, piss off and ban me if you must. Ooops...was I being uncivil? And how big of a spiteful loser do you need to be to go back and look at the history of my talk page? Again, piss off and ban me if you must. Misplaced Pages is getting annoying anyway, particularly for someone trying to help. Please delete my account. I won't bother providing good faith edits when I have liberal (yes, you're a liberal) pricks breathing down my neck for partisan reasons.User:Ynot4tony seen here

My comments - Lets get back to some Realism

  • I think the superbowl thing suffers with slight undue weight. Most people outside the US shake their head in confusion at all the fuss, it panders to US viewpoint as a major incident, instead of an international, no big deal, viewpoint. Almost as much time is dedicated to it as the child sexual abuse accusation of 1993 against MJ over at Michael Jackson. Those allegations were significantly a much bigger deal than some tit falling out of a bra. Just saying it how it is. It needs a trim. - Me talking about Janet Jackson's Super bowl incident seen here.

Things I find helpful here at wiki - Most of which I've actually never read

Links - Love these

Templates - I like slapping vandals with these!

Policy (B) - Worse

RfA - The best place for some wiki drama these days

I oppose this process strongly. Popularity contest, if you don't have the right friends you don't get in (or at least its a lot harder). What's worse, its a game that's played well ... too well. Those seeking admin ship seem to lose track of independent thought in their conquest for approval. Oh and another thing, there is too much incivility, RfA is not a "get out of jail free" card for nasty, bitter, hormonal criticism.

Me as an admin?

While I have no desperate desire for power, the truth of the matter is, I do need the tools sometimes. As the main contributor to a number of controversial articles (Michael Jackson can be a nightmare), I often have to report vandalism as well as request page protections (either at the boards or at specific editors talk pages). Having made over 23,000 edits to the project, my main articles are coming to a close, when it comes to article building, I have nearly completed all my projects. Unfortunately I would be too scared to run through the blood bath that is RfA. Still if I ever thought I had enough community support I would consider running. If anyone would consider nominating me or even simply supporting my nomination feel free to add your name below. I have given details about myself and my Wikiwork on this user page. I know this isn't the usual approach, never mind :-)

List of supporters (I need at least 55 before I even consider it)

23.636% of the way there!
  1. Kodster (talk) -- Really helpful, and would make great use of the tools if given to him
  2. Xp54321 (talk) -- An excellent article writer who would find the protection and blocking tools very useful.
  3. SJP (talk) You strike me as someone who would make a good admin;-) I hope to see you go through hell have a Rfa someday:-)
  4. The Elfoid (talk) - You could do a great job, but if you ever use your editing tools as an admin to stop me editing an article, I'll kill you. Think of the number of times we broke the 3RR by changing our mind on an article about 50 times over while we talked about it on AIM! But maybe I shouldn't mention that here.
  5. Shapiros10 (talk) Has all of the qualities that would make an excellent admin.
  6. epicAdam (talk) Is very willing to help users and is very quick to respond; would make great admin.
  7. andreasegde (talk) Of course, but it would be hard to lose a great editor to those vandal-controlling admins.
  8. Wackymacs (talk) You are great at writing FA-quality articles and you are obviously sensible enough to become an admin. Just a warning, the RfA process can be hell.
  9. Little Mountain 5 (talk) I just came across this page, and yes, I would support if you ran for adminship. Good luck if you do!
  10. iridescent although I doubt you'd pass at this stage. If you want a nomination (which would probably prevent more knee-jerk opposes than it caused, although no promises) let me know – but if you think I've been rude to you in the past, then boy are you in for a shock in the RFA flamepit.
  11. Superior1 (talk) Seems responsible, writes really good articles, would make good use of the admin tools to fight off vandals. I say give him the powers.
  12. My Account - I would support your RFA any day I read all about you on your page and looked at you contribs. Support all the way! MyAccount 15:40, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
  13. Leonard^Bloom - I love your work; you're an artist of an editor, if their ever was one. Also, you are very level-headed. Leonard 04:06, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
