It the dish of choice when somebody is observing fast. Prepared by mixing equal portions of sabudana and ground peanuts fried in oil, it is consumed with buttermilk. Variations such as sweet\hot Usal exist. Sweet Usal is prepared by adding sugar during the cooking process. Hot usal is prepared by mixing chilli powder\green chilli pieces into the mixture of sabudanna and ground peanuts during the frying process.
