The Republic of Estonia is a country in Eastern Europe, bordering the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Finland, between Latvia and Russia.

Capital: Tallinn Official language: Estonian Area: 45 227 km² Population: 1 445 580 (1999 est.) Currency: Eesti Kroon (EEK). 1 kroon = 100 sent. Pegged to the German Mark at rate 1 DEM = 8 EEK
