Early Life and Education : Indra Mani Pandey attended the prestigious Foreign Service Programme at Oxford University, United Kingdom, from October 1998 to June 1999. In 2009, he completed the 49th Annual Course on National Security and Strategy at the National Defence College of India. His academic background has equipped him with a deep understanding of international relations, security strategies and diplomacy.
Career : Before assuming his current role as Secretary General of BIMSTEC, Ambassador Pandey served as the Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva. Ambassadorial and Diplomatic Assignments: Ambassador to Oman: Indra Mani Pandey served as India’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, strengthening bilateral relations and fostering economic cooperation between the two nations. Deputy Ambassador to France: He played a key role in advancing Indo-French relations during his tenure in Paris. Consul General in Guangzhou, China: Indra Mani Pandey oversaw consular operations and promoted trade and cultural exchanges between India and southern China. Postings at Indian Missions : Ambassador Pandey had also served in various diplomatic capacities at Indian Missions in Cairo (Egypt), Damascus (Syria), Islamabad (Pakistan), Kabul (Afghanistan) and Permanent Mission of India to the Conference on Disarmament, Geneva (Switzerland).
