Ayatollah Syed Aqeel-ul-Gharavi was born 5th July, 1964 in India. Presently, he is acknowledged one of the most highly regarded Shia islamic scholars of Indo-Pak subcontinent. He was born in india but his whole family migrated from India when he was very young. After completing his primary and secondary education, he decided to study religion in Qom despite of his interest in medical sciences. Currently, he is living in New Dehli with his family and managing a Madrasah.
Ijtihad
He got Ijazah in 1994 from Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi and became a mujtahid.
Majalis in Pakistan
In 1998, Ayatollah Syed Aqeel-ul-Gharavi addressed majalis in Karachi at Ali Mutaqi Jaffery House. However, in Lahore, he addressed five majalis in 2003 at 6-B, Model Town Lahore. Since then, he has been coming to lahore and addressing at various venues specially at 6-B, Model Town and Imambargha Gulistan-e-Zahra (sa) at Abbot Road, Lahore.
MAJALIS IN PAKISTAN:
Since 1999, Ayatollah Syed Aqeel-ul-Gharavi is addressing majalis in Karachi at the house of Syed Najmul Hassan Jafry, the ImamBarghah MEHFIL-E-SHAH-E-SHAHEEDAN of late Syed Ali Muttaqi Jafry, in Lahore, he addresses five majalis at 6-B, Model Town Lahore, he has been coming to Lahore and addressing at various venues specially at 6-B Model Town and ImamBarghah Gulistan-e-Zehra (S.A) at Abbot Road Lahore. The majalis in Karachi at the house of Syed Najmul Hassan Jafry are telecast on Indus Vision,Indus News and TV channels from 2006.
