Golem is a New York City-based Eastern European folk-punk band. Most lyrics are belted out or wailed in Yiddish or Slavic langauges, yet their fan base of American 20-somethings shows them to be on the forefront of a revival of Jewish culture in popular music typified by performers including rapper Mattisyahu. It has performed throughout the northeastern United States, as well as in California and London.
History
Golem was founded in 2001 by band leader Annette Ezekiel.
