Dimitris Diamantidis (Greek: Δημήτρης Διαμαντίδης; born May 6, 1980 in Kozani, Greece), is a Greek professional basketball player. In 1994, he began his basketball career with Kastoria, a 3rd division team in Greece whom he played five years for. In the summer of 1999, he was transferred to Iraklis and was a starter in his second season. In 2004, he was signed by Panathinaikos, where he is currently playing.
Having won several individual trophies, such as the Euroleague best defender (2005,2006) and the Greek Championship MVP awards (2004,2006), as well as the European Basketball Championship in 2005 with the Greek national team, Diamantidis is considered to be among the very best point guards in Europe.
Diamantidis's nickname is the Octopus Man.
