I realize the fact that he's a black guy in the NHL is unique, but the inclusion in the beginning of the article seems tacky. You call MLK Jr. a "black civil rights leader" because it has an effect on the interest of discussion, it's relevant. The Wayne Gretzky article doesn't say he was a white professional hockey player...
