Millennium Child Support Group is a fully registered non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children in the deprived communities to reach their full potential and also to empowering young women to achieve sustainable from the grassroots levels.

We provide girls with safe, clean and appropriate hygiene and sanitation facilities increase their likelihood to attend schools, and decrease their risk to sexual violence.

We empower women and young people with up-to-date knowledge and the freedom to make their own choices regarding their sexual health and behavior is integral to ensuring health and reducing poverty within the next generation.


DATE OF ESTABLISHMENT: 2006

BRIEF BACKGROUND
In Ghana women and children are generally suffer more than men. This indication shows that we have not dealt fairly well with the girl child leading to poor state and marginalized status of women in our society. Their vulnerability to a number of adverse social conditions has been due to their not well informed. Statistically women out-numbered men in our society. If this country should make headway in its quest to become a middle income country. Soon then we cannot afford to leave our women and children behind. The quality of life and condition of women to socio-economic transformation therefore will be determine by the quality her education.
The organization was set up to build more awareness and mobilize for action on the rights of children women and young people. Listen to them and encouraging their participation because they are resource citizens capable of helping to build a better future for all.
Millennium Child Support Group started on 2002 as Community-based organization in Winneba. The focus was on Child development. The funds were directed towards school-age children out of school in the rural and poor household, subsiding food and clothing, encouraging pupil drop out of school to return to classroom by providing them with their school needs such as uniforms, sandals, materials etc. The organization also support and helped many people to in the rural communities and poor household to register with National Health Insurance Scheme to receive proper health care.
In early 2006, the organization shifted its priorities from mere child aid program in the small communities to a large group of poor communities to eliminate child poverty, young people participation and empowering girls to achieve national development.
The organization has developed strategic inputs to contribute nation-wide program on how to reduce poverty. Our work now is focus on long-term poverty alleviation on children and young people practically. Our focus to work with the rural community as a whole keep further sharpened and deepened.
