He is a UK based Model and Actor who was born in Dang district of Nepal in 1971. Although, he had started his acting/modeling career since 1996 from Nepal, his passion and destiny took him to UK in 1998. He started his modeling career in UK since 2004. Nowadays, he is actively working in acting field in UK. He has already done various roles in movies, music videos & commercial advertising on various projects. Let’s hear some more details from a promising star, Kumud Pant, while he gets up-close and personal with Bluzog.

Where do you see yourself standing in the list of world famous models/actors?

I see myself making much progress. Even though I haven’t had the opportunity to flourish that much like a well-established model/actor, I feel as though I am constantly growing and learning.

Are you content with whatever you’ve achieved so far?

Yes, I am very much in contentment with everything that I have achieved so far. I do have much yet to learn, but I plan on welcoming any further challenges with open arms.

Born and raised in remote district of Nepal, how did you get that inspiration to step into the world stage?

It has always been a dream of mine to model and act. I received an opportunity to move to UK from Nepal, and that was it. This is the world stage to me, and I am steadily fulfilling the dreams I had as a teenager.

Describe briefly your incredible journey of a Nepali guy from Dang to a successful UK based model/actor.

The journey began when I moved to Kathmandu in 1995. I started modeling/acting until I moved to UK in 1998. In 1996, I was featured in the front page of a Nepalese magazine called Satya Katha. As this magazine was a popular one in Nepal, with every new issue, I was receiving more recognition. I was actually the first model that was featured in the cover page of this magazine. In 1997, I started working for director Dinesh DC in his comedy show known as “Twakka Tukka”. I played different characters for 6-7 episodes in this show. Thereafter, I started working in Nepali movies. The first movie that I acted in was “Janma Janma” as the main protagonist’s friend. The next film I was featured in was “Chunauti” as Neil Kanthe. Then, I played the role of a villager in “Janma Bhumi”. I have also been featured in “Gothalo” as the main character’s friend. After moving to UK, I had to settle down a bit and work my way up. In 2004, I won 1st prize in Southeast London Model Competition. I received £500.00, a photo-shoot, interview, and publicity in magazines. In 2010, I was chosen among 17,000 people to participate in Next Model Competition. Among the 100 that were chosen along-side me, I was in top 50. There, I received the opportunity to cat walk, do live shows, fashion shows, photo-shoots, etc. I moved my focus to acting. In 2012, I played a small role of a business man in a bollywood movie “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”. Since then, I have been up to a lot. I try to keep myself busy with something new every day. Which was your first major breakthrough? Was it in movies or modeling?

My first major breakthrough was in 2004 when I won the 1st prize in Southeast London Model Competition.

Who are you major inspirations? (As in other artists)

Rajesh Hamal, Salman Khan and Tom Cruise

You have worked on various projects in feature and short films, TV commercials, music videos. Any personal favorites? Why?

An advertisement I did for BA transfer as a mini cab driver would have to be my personal favorite. This is because it was my first lead role, and I had much positive feedback on it.

If you weren’t acting, what would you be doing?

I would have probably stayed in my village as a farmer.

How was your experience as an actor? Any memorable incident to share.

My experience as an actor has been great so far. Very recently, I played the role of a fighter called Passa in a bollywood movie “The Englishtaan”. I fulfilled my role as the fighter; however, because of the rigidity of the role I was playing, my entire body ached for an entire week. This movie has not been released yet.

If you were to choose between a modeling career and acting, what would you choose? Why?

I would choose acting because of my experiences so far.
Any comments on current political scenario of our country and its impact on entertainment sectors.
As a country, we are constantly growing and making changes. We have been through much in the past few years. However, the political scenario has only worsened overtime. This has consequently leaded to an even worse entertainment sectors. I feel as though I could have possibly gone far even in Nepal, but coming here has changed it all. I have progressed much as well.

Can we see you in Kollywood movies in near future?

Very soon.

सन् १९९५ मा सपनाको सहर काठमाडौँ आएपछि उनको अभिनयको यात्रा शुरु भयो । दिनेश डिसीको ट्वाक्कटुक्कबाट पर्दामा पदार्पण गरेका पन्तले एकसाथ मोडलिङ र अभिनय यात्रा अघि बढाए । उनले जन्मभूमि, जन्मजन्म, चुनौती, गोठालोजस्ता ठूलो पर्दाको नेपाली फिल्ममा मौका पाए ।

Hi, I noticed that you removed the speedy-deletion template, which conflicts with the instructions above. Editors use these templates to remove content that is inappropriate for Misplaced Pages.
