This "user" claims that the following material is contentious BLP material
I am opening the discussion as to why it would be so.
"In 1965 five-year-old Eddie Crimmins, Jr. and four-year-old Alice Marie Crimmins (known as Missy) vanished from their garden apartment at 150-22 72 Drive, on July 14. Alice Marie's body was found the same day in a vacant lot on 71st Avenue at 162nd Street, the area where the 107th Precinct is located today. Eddie's body was found five days later near 68th Drive and the entrance to Northbound Van Wyck Expressway. " This is FACTUAL and reality. This was deleted by the Genius Snowman. Why
"The police were convinced from the start that Alice had committed the murders. This was based on the fact that she had many lovers and was estranged from her husband, in contravention to the morals of the day. There was no actual evidence against her." This is based on the motivations of the police. The general wisdom today is she didn't do it, but she was put on multiple trials and CONVICTED both times because the cops thought she was a bad mom since she had a lot of sex.
"Initially she was convicted of the murder of Missy, but this conviction was overturned on appeal based on improper Prosecution tactics." Fact
"To retaliate, she was re-tried for the murder of her son and her daughter and found guilty. On appeal the conviction for the killing of the son was overturned since no evidence showed he had been murdered, as was the conviction for the killing of her daughter, although this was reinstated. She served only six years before being paroled. She married Anthony Grace, one of her many lovers, and currently lives in Florida."Fact
So this GeniusSnowman calls the above contentious and yet it is merely factual? ] (]) 14:59, 23 August 2013 (UTC) |

BLP issues
The article contains several unsourced statements inappropriate for a BLP and needs to be pruned by someone familiar with this kind of material. --Randykitty (talk) 12:26, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
What are you talking about? It is VERY well sourced. A mild article.Finkellium (talk) 15:23, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- It contains unsourced statements that don't belong in a BLP (like "one of her many lovers"). --Randykitty (talk) 16:09, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- You clearly didn't read the sources- you need to read them all. The entire point of her case is that they went after her because she had a lot of boyfriends not because there was any evidence. The many lovers are mentioned in every article that is sourced below. Please don't think, just read. Finkellium (talk) 15:12, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- Funny when you're trying to write an encyclopedia to be admonished "don't think"... Some of those sources are just blogs and should be thrown out, they cannot be used to source a biography of a living person. The whole article needs an overhaul. To mention just one issue: The lead starts with "Alice Crimmins is an American murderess suspected in the 1960s double murder trial of her two children". Apart from the poor grammar ("suspected in a trial"?), if she's only "suspected", we shouldn't call her a "murderess". If she's a "murderess", then we shouldn't say that she was just suspected. I've posted a note on the BLP Noticeboard asking for assistance from some more experienced editors. --Randykitty (talk) 15:42, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- I've got a better idea. Since you are a genius editor, rewrite it yourself. Easy. !Finkellium (talk) 07:22, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

- Serious BLP issues here, as well as general poor editing from Finkellium. GiantSnowman 15:53, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
