:rastiniak - I believe it is now clear that you have a deep conflict of interest in editing of Misplaced Pages. I am asking you to please refrain from making any edits to any article related to amiram goldblum (including the new Israel fund, Israel and apartheid related articles, yisraela golblum, steven plaut, etc.) unless you discuss your edit/revert/addition/etc on the talk page first. that is the easiest of wiki's standard procedures, though you can try some edits anyway, as per ]. in addition, it also appears that you are in violation of ] which is a separate but related issue. I ask, again, in order to make this work smoothly, that you discuss all edits on the talk page of the relevant article first, before editing the article itself (editing, reverting, adding, deleting, etc.). thank you. ] (]) 06:05, 21 May 2013 (UTC) |

Use one account
Hello -- I notice that the talk page for Amiram Goldblum was edited yesterday by User:Rastiniak. I assume this is you. You should be aware of WP:SOCK -- and the gist of it is that you must not use two different accounts, certainly not without acknowledging that they are both yours. I'm not sure why you created the new one; in any event, I strongly advise you to use only one from this point on. If you continue to use both, it is likely that both of them will end up blocked -- one permanently, the other temporarily. I'm posting here in the mode of constructive advice, in part to prevent a situation where someone else posts in a more hostile mode. Regards, —Nomoskedasticity (talk) 05:56, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Nomoskedasticity, this may be a result of inexperience and not of any bad intentions, I can assure you of that. Trouble is that I see on the top of my page the same name (Rastiniak) in Hebrew, but while I write something in Misplaced Pages in English I naturally use the 4 tildes with the English name. They are the same....how could I guarantee that only the English name will appear ? or should it not ? I am indeed confused and will be glad to
get advise from you, sorry for taking your time... רסטיניאק (talk) 19:53, 8 March 2013 (UTC)rastiniak
- The main thing is, stay logged in to just one account, especially if using multiple devices/computers. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 20:16, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- Does that mean that if I move between computers (office and home, usually) I should log in in both to the same account ? רסטיניאק (talk) 20:22, 8 March 2013 (UTC)rastiniak
- Yes, exactly. There won't be any problems in doing this -- use the same (one) account on any device (computer) you use to edit Misplaced Pages. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 20:35, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

rastiniak multiple accounts needs to be corrected
rastiniak has two accounts, one in english and one in hebrew. i now see that he has been investigated for sock puppetry. i propose that one of the accounts be deleted (makes no difference which), but that all material from that account's talk page be moved to the remaining account's talk page. (i assume that both are his and not a real sock puppet, yes?)

rastiniak - you have first right to take care of this. please proceed. thanks. Soosim (talk) 06:08, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- That SPI was closed with no action. The only thing this editor needs to do at this stage is to use only one account going forward. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 10:21, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- Rastiniak may not be familiar with the relevant policy, WP:Multiple accounts, which recommends the use of only one account without good reason. — Malik Shabazz /Stalk 21:45, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you Nomoskedasticity and Malik Shabazz. I am now familiar with the policy but did not realize that I am still using two different accounts. I can see only the Hebrew login name (rastiniak in Hebrew...) on my page either at the office or at home. Please indicate to me if that is OK. I am not interested in using any other as long as I have a keyboard with Hebrew. What do you suggest that I do once I am travelling and have no such access to Hebrew ? רסטיניאק (talk) 15:16, 13 March 2013 (UTC)rastiniak
- It looks like you can type in English even with a Hebrew log in name, would it be possible to simply only use the Rastiniak account and abandon this account? (X! · talk) · @728 · 16:28, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

- now I am even more confused.... I AM using the rastiniak (in Hebrew) account right now. What would it mean to "abandon" the other account ? what account ? The one in English ? what happens if I abandon it... to issues that were written by using that name (again, similar in Hebrew and in English, so there is not attempt for sock puppetry... I admit that they are both mine...)רסטיניאק (talk) 16:34, 13 March 2013 (UTC)rastiniak
Don't ever use the other account again. Ever. When you abandon it you do nothing, ergo abandon. You never log into that account again. You can follow this link to learn more and although it isn't used much you can also put this template on the old user page.
- What do you suggest that I do once I am travelling and have no such access to Hebrew ? Do NOT edit Misplaced Pages do something else with your time.

Your latest revert on Goldblum is fine. But please make sure you understand WP:1RR for that article. If you revert on that more than once in a 24-hour period, someone will likely ask that you be blocked, and that request would likely be successful (though in the first instance it would only be for ~24 hours). —Nomoskedasticity (talk) 15:07, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Nomoskedasticity . I assume that the same applies to Soosim. In any case, there is some chance to get a scan of the original pages. If so, how does one proceed ? Could that dispute with Soosim be terminated otherwise ?רסטיניאק (talk) 17:50, 12 April 2013 (UTC)רסטיניאק
- Yes, it does indeed apply to Soosim (and in fact he has already been blocked a couple of times for violating it). A scan might help resolve things with Soosim. You could upload a scan to "commons" -- but I don't really know how to do that. You'd have to investigate at WP:COMMONS. It's up to you, how much effort you would want to put into that. As the article Amiram Goldblum is now fully protected for 10 days based on my request, there remains a paragraph with defamatory information introduced by Soosim which has no basis in the source that he cites. As I wrote in two comments at the bottom of Talk:Amiram Goldblum (section LA Times article which includes info about Goldblum) the Soosim edited paragraph (second paragraph of the Politics section) is an imaginative synthesis of isolated facts from the article, written in order to harm Goldblum. It does not conform with WP:BLP on views of tiny minorities. Also, on the talk page, contrary to what is suggested in WP:BLP, there is a full section introduced by Nataev (who has been blocked from editing that page) claiming that the Goldblum article is an autobiography, without presenting any false or distorted or non cited information and without suggesting any missing new information. Nataev admitted to be a rival of Goldblum by his association with the main smearer of Golbdlum on a personal website, Professor Steven Plaut. Also, the autobiography claim is rediculous in view of the fact that it is Soosim himself who started that article while I have tried to balance it subsequently (in part by having mistakingly a second login with the name Rastiniak, which is English for my Hebrew username, the only one I use since I was alerted about it..) by correct and non-defamatory information, which was why Soosim started it.רסטיניאק (talk) 08:33, 14 May 2013 (UTC)רסטיניאק
- Just to add my support for the suggestion that this addition to the article should be reversed, and added back only once there is consensus for it on the article talk page. In this instance, WP:BLPREMOVE really needs to take precedence over WP:WRONGVERSION. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 09:28, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) I suggest you posting your request on the talk page of the article in a section under a {{Edit protected}} tag. Technical 13 (talk) 15:34, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
- Technical 13 is correct - this request has to be made on the article talk page as a "edit protected" request. Ronhjones 23:10, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you Technical 13 and Ronhjones for that comment. On the article's talk page, however, an administrator suggested to use the {{Edit protected}} tag only if the different editors can reach consensus, which has not occured until now and will not be possible as long as ]] sticks to a defamatory interpretation of texts. In that case, is it still recommended to move the request to the article's talk page. Sorry for my lack of experience.. רסטיניאק (talk) 05:05, 16 May 2013 (UTC)רסטיניאק
- i have tried to leave comments here, but the editor has removed them. and from the article talk page. what can we do? Soosim (talk) 06:32, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Soosim is requested to leave his comments on his own page. None of his comments has been deleted from the article's talk page, but they will be delted here if harmful רסטיניאק (talk) 07:27, 16 May 2013 (UTC)רסטיניאק
- i have tried to leave comments here, but the editor has removed them. and from the article talk page. what can we do? Soosim (talk) 06:32, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- this looks like erasing comments from an article talk page: http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Talk%3AAmiram_Goldblum&diff=555024070&oldid=555019836 - yes? no? Soosim (talk) 07:38, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- Indeed, non-registered authors (as well as registered ones) who introduce defamatory and hatred messages are required to be deleted immediatley. This is one of the basics of WP:BLP. Could it be a sockpuppet of the author who protests ? רסטיניאק (talk) 19:33, 16 May 2013 (UTC)רסטיניאק
Apparently you two have a content dispute. I'm assuming that you've already requested a WP:3O and the next rational step for you would be to try and figure it out at the dispute resolution noticeboard. I wish you the best of luck in coming to an agreement; unfortunately, no-one is going to edit the article for either one of you until the dispute has been resolved. Happy editing! Technical 13 (talk) 10:51, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- As per WP:FULL - Administrators can make changes to the protected article reflecting consensus Consensus is a fundamental part of Misplaced Pages policy Ronhjones 19:19, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- As per WP:PREFER, content that is "defamatory of living persons" needs to be removed even in the absence of consensus. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 20:42, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
Redacting your contributions to talk pages
Once someone has responded to a comment you make at an article talk page, you can't delete it, per WP:REDACT. However, to show that you withdraw a comment that you regret making, you can "strike" it, placing the following code at the beginning and end: < s> and < /s> -- but omit the spaces, so that you get this. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 04:34, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Nomo, will perform soon. רסטיניאק (talk) 09:16, 17 May 2013 (UTC)רסטיניאק
official conflict of interest report
Hello, רסטיניאק. We welcome your contributions to Misplaced Pages, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Misplaced Pages, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Misplaced Pages article or website of your organization in other articles (see Misplaced Pages:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Misplaced Pages's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Misplaced Pages when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.
