The Optical Society of America (OSA) is a research and education organization in the field of optics. Founded in 1916, it is headquartered in Washington DC. In 2005 it had more than 14,000 members from over 80 countries.

OSA publishes the Optics & Photonics News magazine and the journals Optics Letters and Journal of the Optical Society of America.
