Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    HotBox Radio (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. NickAang (talk) 07:56, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

    Lisa Daftari (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Disruptive edit warring and BLP violations by IP that refuses to engage in substantive discussion. His last edit summary reads as follows: "Pan-Zionist POV pushing, restoring sources". Plot Spoiler (talk) 03:48, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

False informations. You're removing sources (her personal webpage), you did not engage in discussion. --109.165.155.142 (talk) 03:53, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Please just look at this user's edits and edit summaries ("Pan-Zionist POV pushing"?). This user's familiarity with the Misplaced Pages system also makes it likely s/he is a sock. Plot Spoiler (talk) 04:01, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

I agree with the sockpuppet bit. I left the IP a warning not to vandalize or disrupt pages and they left a "Message-back" banner on my page. It is VERY unlikely a IP user would know how to do that! Andrew Wiggin (talk) 04:52, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

    Saeed Abedini (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Disruptive edit warring by IP that refuses to engage in substantive discussion . Plot Spoiler (talk) 03:47, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

It's obvious that you're avoiding discussion on Talk page and you're trying to spread propaganda (nominating highly NPOV-violated article to "Did you know...?") --109.165.155.142 (talk) 03:55, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Please just look at this user's edits, edit summaries and talk page comments ("It's clearly that you promote Zionist propaganda"). This user's familiarity with the Misplaced Pages system also makes it likely s/he is a sock. Plot Spoiler (talk) 04:03, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

    Janoskians (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi-protection: BLP policy violations – New users and IPs continue to vandalise this BLP article, and add unsourced content. — MSTR 03:47, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Happy Holiday (song) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Seigneurial system of New France (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Long term pattern of IP vandalism. The Anonymouse (talk | contribs) 00:13, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937 film) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: An IP editor seems to be repeatedly adding plot detail that is extraneous and uses unencyclopedic language. The editor seems to be on a dynamic IP (see and ), and the earlier one has already been blocked for disruptive editing once (see User talk:69.231.39.82). Editors have better things to do than constantly reverting this guy, so a few days semi protection would be appreciated. Betty Logan (talk) 23:40, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

    Vadakalai (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Full protection: Some major changes were made by another user where factual data have been altered according to his own agenda. I've reverted them back to the original revision. Need protection until reaching a consensus. Hari7478 (talk) 20:12, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

    Iyengar (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite full protection: A user has been making major changes to the article by removing well sourced info(evidently wp:idontlikeit) and has mentioned in the article's talk page that an "edit war is the only way to get me to agree to dispute mediation". See here:. Although i never violated any of wiki's editorial policies, the user has been making false accusations ab't me, and is calling me out for an edit war, so that he can resort to dispute mediation. The page has been protected a lot of times in the past due to similar issues and there seems to be no end to it. Despite the fact that other experienced users/admins have allowed the original revision to exist, that user has been making some major changes, and as you can evidently see from the diff provided, he's calling me out for an edit war so that he can have his ways of getting things done. Please protect the page until consensus is reached. This has been going on for too long. Hari7478 (talk) 20:05, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

English Defence League (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring. Mathonius (talk) 18:55, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

One of the editors involved has been blocked for 3 hours, so page protection might not be necessary. Mathonius (talk) 18:58, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
I agree; Declined per above. The block might prove not to be of sufficient length, though. Lectonar (talk) 19:46, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

    Roman mythology (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite pending changes: Persistent vandalism – I've had this article on my watchlist since I reverted some vandalism two months ago. Since then, I've noticed that every edit to pop up on my watchlist has been vandalism or reversion. So I looked back in the history to find the last actual constructive edit (excluding "see also" additions and the like): I made it to a year ago before I gave up. The only question is whether semi-protection would be more apt; I'm fond of the idea of indef PC, combined with shorter-term semis as necessary, and since the article's currently receiving only a few edits a week, I see this as a perfect candidate for such a solution. — PinkAmpers& 18:38, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

The Biggest Loser UK (series 3) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – I am patrolling The Biggest Loser national versions and their seasons, and this article has the history of persistent vandalism by unknown IPs. Would like to request at least two months of page protection (same as what you guys did on The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition article). These IPs (109.253.7.176, 95.35.63.143, 95.35.63.216, 46.210.224.176, and 176.13.201.10) who had vandalize the article the whole month are all located in Israel. I would also like to have them blocked for I believe all this edits are all done by one man only. AR E N Z O Y 1 6At a l k 15:53, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Too many Ajith fans/haters ruin the article and are dominantly IP users, so protection for the article is needed forever. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:52, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

    Fulfilled/denied requests

Please see Misplaced Pages:Requests for page protection/Rolling archive for a rolling archive of the last 7 days of protection requests.
