The Requests for closure noticeboard is for posting requests to have an uninvolved editor assess, summarize, and formally close a discussion on Misplaced Pages. Most discussions do not need to follow a formal process for closing and summarizing the result.

I think that it would make sense, sometime in the future, to have the request for comment here be gone over by someone, possibly uninvolved, who could "boil down" the various comments into clear proposals.

Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/Syntax differentiation in editing window

Can an uninvolved user assess consensus at this (read: my) RfC on whether the editing window should include functionality to differentiate syntax? This RfC has run its full 30 days and has been delisted. Note that there are three separate questions asked, all with different levels of participation. I am intending to bring this proposal to bugzilla after consensus has established. I, Jethrobot (note: not a bot!) 00:23, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

This was opened as an RM on 22 September. The originator added an RfC tag on 28 September. There have been only three !votes since 5 October, and only one (added today) since 15 October. This is a perennial discussion going back to 2002 and beyond. On this occasion I think everything that needs to be said has long since been said. It's time to close it for another year. This is an early solicitation for one or more uninvolved administrators, preferably three who would be willing to close collaboratively, to close Misplaced Pages talk:Requests for comment/Abortion advocacy movement coverage when its community feedback phase has ended (November 4th to 9th presently allocated for closing). Early indications are that there will likely be consensus in favor of its primary conclusion, which means administrative privileges will be needed to carry out indicated moves. Note that as a proposal to use voting mechanics as part of its closing procedures ended with no consensus, there is no contention that methods other than standard WP:NOTVOTE judgment of consensus should apply. As the previous RFC that this is a successor to had closing admins lined up very early, it would help improve confidence in the process if closing volunteers could be found as early as possible.
