Infantilism, also known as autonepiophilia, is the paraphilic desire to wear diapers and be treated as an infant. A person characterized by it is referred to as an infantilist; one who engages in infantilistic play is known as an adult baby (AB). Adult babies and diaper fetishists are collectively known by the acronym AB/DL. The majority of known infantilists are heterosexual males.
Infantilism is not to be confused with pedophilia or infantophilia, which are grouped in a different category by experts. Unlike pedophilia, infantilism is practiced between consenting adults, and does not involve actual children in any way.
Roleplay
Infantalistic play by definition revolves around pretending to be an infant. Typically, this means simulating infantile behavior, wearing diapers and baby clothes, and sometimes deliberately relearning urinary incontinence. Some infantilists locate "mommies," who fulfill the baby's maternal role by changing diapers, providing milk and soft food, and generally pampering them. Other, usually homosexual adult babies may find "daddies" to substitute as a father.
