File copyright problem with File:Belfast City Hall 2010.JPG
Thank you for uploading File:Belfast City Hall 2010.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock 02:54, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
C.S. Lewis
Hey, There are pages and pages of information on "was Lewis English or Irish" on the talk page. The current (or recent anyway) article represents a compromise between those two views. You might want to read that information. LloydSommerer (talk) 11:54, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Dialling codes
For future reference, I shall point out that BT's area code lookup facility isn't a reliable source. People are regularly finding errors on it, and BT have gone through a few phases of fixing some of these errors and adding new errors. See User talk:Eurosong/02x for the lowdown.
Generally, if you want to look up a dialling code, please use Ofcom's facility. Ofcom is the authoritative source on the UK's phone numbering system. -- Smjg (talk) 12:49, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- Also note the dialing area code for all NI numbers is now just 028. When 028 was brought in, all Northern Ireland telephone numbers actually got extended by 2 digits so are now 8 digit numbers. There are no local area codes in NI anymore. Canterbury Tail talk 13:31, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Insomnia Coffee Company
Hi, please add independent sources to show notability for Insomnia Coffee Company. - Fayenatic (talk) 17:19, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
City of Derry Airport
Just wondering why you undid my revision without giving a reason - my edit was factual and was not intended to be POV in any way. Former and alternative names of places are commonly found in the first line of an article, so I am baffled that you took issue with this revision. Jamezcd (talk) 19:56, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I found this an unnecessary repetition to the info box. Thanks to moving home recently and depending on dongle based broadband my edit was quick, and seemed possibly POV due to your contributions appearing to largely be associated to the Troubles. Furthermore would you happen to know who the first time editor was who seemed to side with you, 20 mins before you commented on my talk page? May I advise the reading of Misplaced Pages:Sock puppetry --NorthernCounties (talk) 21:31, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
GoCar
Hey! I don't think I explained the situation very well so here's a brief history. Someone created an article a while back about GoCar which is a ridesharing program in Ireland. About a month ago (I think), someone came to that article and changed it completely to refer to a company called GoCar which is in several different countries which rents these small yellow go cart-ish things that are guided by a GPS system that triggers directions and sightseeing facts. I've reverted your revert so that now there is a disambiguous page that points towards GoCar of Ireland and GoCar Tours which have nothing to do with each other besides the fact that they share the same name. Any objections to that solution? OlYeller 15:02, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Ireland
I disagree, there is currently a NPOV issue. But, it's not worth edit-warring over, so that was my lone revert. PS: Could ya rephrase the word 'bigot'? GoodDay (talk) 18:19, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- the
{{POV}}
tag clearly says do not remove until the dispute is resolved. Codf1977 (talk) 18:22, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- I don't particularly have a position in this debate, but I did see your edit summary here float past on my watchlist. Referring to other editors as "the usual bigots" is wholly inappropriate. You may wish to refer to the policies on civility and personal attacks. That doesn't by any means indicate you shouldn't discuss issues when you disagree, but please do so in a collegial manner, not by belittling and insulting other editors. Seraphimblade 18:25, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
I believe you'll find my input on the Ireland talk page a little more informative, I find in wholly inappropriate with one editors attack on any Ireland related article... and for one or two too back this and add a POV box at the top of a high quality article. Which is a direct insult to any editor that helped to achieve this status. Bigotry is a topic that is at the heart of many Northern Irish/Irish issues... and in many cases both sides are guilty. But I still find that this is an acceptable term in these instances. Going with the flow of things on the Irish article, maybe all editors of the Irish article that have a neutrality issue and enforce the no British Isles terminology should begin making POV issues on any and every article that mentions British Isles? No that would be silly and making a pointless point. Exactly what is happening on the Ireland article.--NorthernCounties (talk) 18:34, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- We just don't want anybody thinking we wear pointed hats & like to burn crosses. GoodDay (talk) 16:24, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed... In hindsight, I could have been more tactful with the use of vocabulary! No hard feelings.--NorthernCounties (talk) 16:58, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
License tagging for File:U2Tower.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:U2Tower.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Misplaced Pages uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Misplaced Pages.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:05, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on City of Derry Airport. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 18:56, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Factocop
In all honesty I would ignore the Troll, they will be blocked soon enough if not for socking but for disruption. Mo ainm~Talk 12:46, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
- I think I will take this opportunity and listen to your suggestion Mo ainm. I think the sole purpose of the multiple accounts is to cause such disruption and angst. Thanks for the advice. --NorthernCounties (talk) 12:52, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

You are mentioned Misplaced Pages:Sockpuppet investigations/O Fenian in this SPI. Mo ainm~Talk 19:22, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

- Thanks for the heads up, just noticed NI4Life has been blocked, that investigation was pointless. Check user would have only vindicated us anyway. I look forward to the next alias putting forward the same allegation. --NorthernCounties (talk) 19:31, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Brandywell Stadium
I set up a discussion on this yesterday. No one joined the discussion. I then made the revision. I can not force people to join a discussion. Feel free to contribute...Factocop (talk) 11:49, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
On a page like Brandywell Stadium, you need more than one day to decide it's ok to change. The first time you changed it, it was with out discussion. Two editors, one being myself reverted. Please find concensus before making any changes. On the note of literal translation. It is common for thinks not to literally translate. I.e Cider in Irish is Apple Ale. I think O Fenian put a good point in one of his reverts that came up in my feed. "Water is wet". Please do not take this as me being a sock of his... I wouldn't have thought of it to be honest. --NorthernCounties (talk) 12:02, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Well given that Brandywell Stadium is in bold and followed immediately by the translation, its easy to see the confusion. Also there is no reference to the translation. OK, your right, 1 day isnt long enough but then why didnt those who made the reversions including yourself not join the discussion? On the County Londonderry page I was informed that I was not allowed to use a figurative translation for the County, it had to be a literal translation, fair enough. But there is no direct/literal translation for the 'Brandywell Stadium'. Most people simply call it 'The Brandywell' anyway.Factocop (talk) 12:22, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Any agreement here? Can you answer any of the questions I have posted above?Factocop (talk) 19:11, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
October 2010
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at Brandywell Stadium. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 23:47, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- After you refused to discuss with Factocop, Amalthea asked you to discuss it with them. Rather than responding, you continued reverting today: hence, the block for edit warring. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 23:49, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
