I'm a bit belated, but wanted to thank you for the barnstar regarding the ] article. I'm honestly trying to help the editors that want their article to remain, but they're simply closed to receiving any help. I still see no level of notability whatsoever. And I think the mention that Sozlati is using Misplaced Pages to "trying to introduce notable artists and scientists from our community" is very telling and clearly indicates an inappropriate use of Misplaced Pages. I think the closer will most likely cop out and say there was no consensus. I'll be bummed. Oh well. I gotcher back. ] (]) |

Removing broken links
I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier -- I reverted your edits, started a long talk page explanation, and then realised I didn't have time to complete it before I had to go out.
Death of websites or link rot is, of course, an ongoing problem with the encyclopedia, and it's extremely annoying in the context of the Cheshire WikiProject that the new unitaries have decided not to maintain the entire old council's entire website as a record. In the more general case, former pages often just move URL and can easily be found again if the title/details are known. They are often archived in various places, most obviously the Internet Archive (aka The Wayback Machine) and WebCite, and can be retrieved from there. Even in the absence of an archive copy of the webpage, the fact that a particular website published by a reputable source formerly supported a statement is of genuine value -- it's essentially no different from an out-of-print book.
The policy is therefore not to remove references which cite defunct websites. Instead, if you notice a dead link and can't easily find a replacement copy of the original webpage or an archived copy at the Internet Archive or similar, insert the {{dead link}} template, so that someone else can try to fix the problem. See Misplaced Pages:Linkrot for a more detailed explanation. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 22:34, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer permission
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Misplaced Pages:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:33, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- No, I would like this userright - it will be helpful. Thank you. Beeshoney (talk) 15:34, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Rollback
Hello, per your request, I've granted you Rollback rights! Just remember:
- Rollback gives you access to certain scripts, including Huggle and Igloo, some of which can be very powerful, so exercise caution
- Rollback is only for blatant vandalism
- Having Rollback rights does not give you any special status or authority
- Misuse of Rollback can lead to its removal by any administrator
- Please read Help:Reverting and Misplaced Pages:Rollback feature to get to know the workings of the feature
- You can test Rollback at Misplaced Pages:New admin school/Rollback
- You may wish to display the {{User wikipedia/rollback}} userbox and/or the {{Rollback}} top icon on your user page
- If you have any questions, please do let me know.
CHESS NAMES TEMPLATE
Your recent revert here made no sense. Care to explain?
- "Deleting old section", what a joke. I spent quite a bit of time getting that edit just right and you threw it away in less than a minute, obviously without looking at it, and with clearly no idea about what you're doing. Then you ignore my request for an explanation, as if you did nothing wrong and then call ME "unconstructive". What do you have to say for yourself?98.16.128.194 (talk) 15:31, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. There seems to be some confusion. My edit was a mistake, and I have apologised for it - on this Talk page. It seems that you edit from multiple IP addresses, and so your Talk page constantly changes (you have a different Talk page for each IP address you edit from). To prevent any more confusion, please consider creating an account for yourself. That way, you will have the same Talk page all the time.
Just so you know, edit's are never "thrown away". By clicking on an articles' history, which in this case is here, you can undo any edits other users have made. So please, never feel that an edit you have made has been wasted.
Also, the message on this page, which says that your edit "appears to be unconstructive" is an automated message - I did not write it myself. Please feel free to delete the message. I'm sorry I didn't find out any more information about your edit before deleting it - I will next time.
One last thing. Please "sign" all your messages on Talk pages with 4 of this symbol: ~. That way, I know who wrote the message. For more information on editing Misplaced Pages, please visit the Getting Started section. I'm sure you will find this to be of help.
Once again, sorry for any confusion, and I hope you will continue to enjoy editing Misplaced Pages. Beeshoney (talk) 17:25, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Thank you

Reverted edits
Hello, I tried to expand the biography on Kourosh Zolani page and as instructed I made sure that there is not any spamlink in this version of the bio. There was only more information about him. Would you please advise why you reverted the new bio to the old short version of it? Thank you, Thomas Thomasshane (talk) 17:01, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but it's pretty obvious that this sort of edit is not OK. I appreciate that you left out the CDbaby link, but sourcing awards to the guy's own website (see the history of the article--it's been explained in the edit summaries), that's not OK. You need to find independent and reliable sources. Drmies (talk) 18:50, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
- The edits you made:
- 1. Removed references.
- 2. Used no paragraphs, and removed the previous ones.
- 3. Had no references to support the new information you were adding.
- 4. Didn't have a good enough standard of English to be used on the English Misplaced Pages.
- Everyone's edits are welcome, but please read the Getting Started section of Misplaced Pages first - especially the Editing Tutorial. This explains what type of edits are allowed on Misplaced Pages.
- Thank you for asking the question, and I hope you find this information to be useful. Beeshoney (talk) 18:58, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your note. I found a new reference for the award. I will use this and I hope it is a credible reference. Regarding the edits to the body of the text, I was trying to improve the page. Thomasshane (talk) 19:28, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Barclays Cycle Hire
With this edit, please note that you did not just remove {{transport-stub}}, you also changed "]" to "]" which obviously does not exist; that is why it was undone, and when you repeated it, you did the same again.
I have now fixed the category name. Chzz ► 07:44, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I didn't realise. Thank you. Beeshoney (talk) 10:22, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
WP:SPA tags
Like this:
{{subst:spa|Example}}
...then replace Example with the IP address or username. Hope that helps! TFOWR 16:43, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
It does help - I realised after the third attempt! Thank you. Beeshoney (talk) 16:43, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- What a mess that AfD is... I have no doubt, though, that a closing administrator will see the forest for the trees. Thanks for your involvement. Drmies (talk) 16:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome. Beeshoney (talk) 16:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Rollback
Hi Beeshoney. You made to uses of rollback here and here that are inappropriate - rollback is only for reverting clear cases of vandalism. It should not be used for reverting good faith edits - even if you disagree with those edits. If you do this repeatedly you may have rollback removed - please use it more carefully in future. TFOWR 23:00, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, I won't do it again. I considered the edits here as being vandalism because the user kept on re-inserting the same text multiple times even though s/he had been asked not to. I still won't do it again. Beeshoney (talk) 09:58, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- No worries. In situations like that you can still revert, but use "undo" and provide an edit summary explaining why you're reverting. The concern with rollback is that it doesn't provide any explanation for the revert, hence why it should only be used when the edit being reverted is obviously something that needed to be reverted.
