Hi George, as you're the admin mainly dealing with LaRouche issues, I wanted to let you know that I've just issued a warning to Leatherstocking for a BLP violation. I did this as an editor, not as an admin; I won't take admin action myself given my recent content disputes with him. It would be good if you could keep an eye on him, especially the BLP issues, which seem to be mainly about his adding material to or about ]. A word of encouragement

Hello George. I've seen you around Misplaced Pages many times, but I don't think we've spoken directly to one another. I just wanted to leave you a note saying how much I personally appreciate the work you do on Misplaced Pages. You work in a lot of contentious areas, yet you manage to think things through and you try to work with people in achieving the best possible outcome. I'm glad you're an admin, and I think you're one of the best ones we have right now. I just felt like leaving you some words of encouragement, because everybody needs some now and then. Killiondude (talk) 07:32, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

See AN thread

I mentioned an administrative warning you gave in a new AN post, please see Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard#Proposed_topic_ban_on_Landmark_Education_SPAs. Cirt (talk) 12:44, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

ASE Block

OK, I looked at the link included in your block summary and see no mention of Bluemarine, Matt Sanchez or Durova. Exactly what is he being blocked for? - NeutralHomerTalk15:09, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

I believe you have a double negative here that says the opposite of what you mean (illegitimate should be legitimate if I'm right). –xeno 21:18, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

A* seems to disagree that it's illegitimate for the community to impose such an absolute ban,

Request for arbitration filed

This is to let you know that I've filed a request for arbitration at Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration#Scope of NLT concerning a case in which you have commented at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive560#Legal threats by Milomedes. I have not listed you as an involved party; should you, however, prefer to be considered involved, let me know and I'll add you to the list.  --Lambiam 12:10, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

ANI etc

Hi. You posted a "support" for Chillum on my page and I'm unclear whether you are aware of the background here. I was "reported" to ANI by "Todd", an Admin who previously made a very bad block of another Irish editor. Why was I reported? Because I discovered that Vintagekits (Irish editor) was yet again blocked for "incivility", ironically by an editor who's page reads like some of the graffiti you'd see in a public toilet. I disrupted nothing and commented only on Vk's page. I have read WP:POINT and see absolutely nothing in it that relates to the current issue. Sarah777 (talk) 21:30, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

I have removed what I regard as threats from my page. If you can be "goaded" into 'removing editors from the project' because you don't like them I'd seriously ask you to consider your suitability to be an Admin. Seriously. No joke. I pointed out that there was nothing in WP:POINT that related to my actions. You have completely failed to address that point. Sarah777 (talk) 23:59, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

GWH, I think you're off the mark on this one. Perhaps it would be best to be supportive and collegial in trying to help resolve the dispute instead of rushing in with your gun drawn and your badge out? Take care. ChildofMidnight (talk) 00:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

I think you are going a wonderful job George. Keep up that good work. Chillum 00:27, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
That's the spirit! :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 01:32, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi George

I am contacting you in regard to the post below. Sorry for the delay in responding.

Your recent edits to Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents could give Misplaced Pages contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Misplaced Pages itself. Please note that this is strictly prohibited under Misplaced Pages's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Misplaced Pages, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please note also that for a conflict of interests it is generally a bad thing to edit articles you're personally involved. If one user inserts inappropriate expressions, you can report this on Misplaced Pages:Neutral_point_of_view/Noticeboard. Phoe (talk) 11:21, 4 May 2009 (UTC) You referred to Audley Harrison as "my Client" on the ANI posting. What is your business relationship with Harrison? Per Phoe's note, conflicts of interest are an obvious issue on Misplaced Pages, and editing where you may have one challenges our policy requiring neutral edits and article content. If you have been editing and have not disclosed it you need to disclose the relationship now. Additionally, being paid to edit Misplaced Pages is outright prohibited. Please let us know what the facts are here - we can advise how you can avoid falling further afoul of our policies. Thank you. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 19:44, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I am audley's brother and business manager. We did get some advice from council and the use of the nicknames are offensive and inflammatory. Those nicknames have been used by one promoter only and after a legal letter was sent to him in 2005, he has refrained from using those names. we kindly ask you to remove them.

Regards

Um...

"None of you are currently showing the type of collaborative attitude required to actually work on a consensus solution moving forwards."

If you read the history at Talk:Persian Empire, you would see that there is strong consensus (over 9 people so far) against blanking of the page via turning it into a redirect. It is kinda hard to "compromise" when one side wishes to completely destroy something. There have been multiple proposals for better content which keep resulting in Alefbe jumping in and removing all of the content and claiming that it should not belong in any form and with Folantin et al reinforcing his removal via edit warring. Ottava Rima (talk) 23:55, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

I would like at least some acknowledgment that there was consensus against blanking the page. None of your comments show a willingness to do this. If I take this to ArbCom, it will be important for me to discuss that none of the administrators reviewing the situation at ANI actually acknowledged that consensus was clearly against turning this page into a redirect. As such, I would be asking that this, along with other aspects of the case, be immediately remedied, since this is a major factor in determining that their actions are blanking, and thus vandalism. Instead, it is being treated as if they are acting within standard consensus process, which is completely wrong, inappropriate, and shows an unwillingness to deal with the actual situation. Thank you in advance for your acknowledgment. Ottava Rima (talk) 13:36, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
WP:SPIDERMAN. I have already warned you that if you force admins into actual action on this, you're going to be blocked for a while. Please stop pushing. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 02:54, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Since you left a comment that you did not have enough time to look in depth in the issue on WP:ANI, if you could have the time, I would appreciate a look. "Administrator abuses" on my part have come up in the discussion. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:00, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Need an opinion

I'd rather not block David Tombe myself. Can you check if this edit is a violation of his speed of light topic ban, and if so give a warning or take any necessary follow up action? Thank you! Jehochman 03:18, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Things are moving along. Could you tell me what you think, but don't take any actions just yet? I don't want to upset matters that appear headed toward resolution. Jehochman 03:39, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello George,

I have written you a number of times but subsequently erased my comments. I am very new to Misplaced Pages and if my tone has taken a rather uncivil tone, as one editor suggested, then I apologize but when I saw my kind husband being maligned then I had to react. Also, it is not easy to read that people think you are a "gold digger", that your ancestors were slave owners, that perhaps I cost my husband his title due to his marriage to me, that he descends from murdering ancestors, etc. I suppose you have read most of what has been written. Someone, also, stated that the Congress of Vienna was irrelevant.

There are a few things which are not factual in this biography: --Sullivan Jenrette,my real estate company, sued Donald Trump. However, the Simon Group settled with me for an undisclosed amount of money, which neither I nor they are allowed to reveal.

--I inserted that I had worked as a Series 3 broker, on Wall Street in 1985. This was erased. If it does not seem like an worthy entry then that is fine with me. Although, working as a series 3 broker was rather interesting, for a period of time.

--I have attempted to change the statement that I have received my MBA from Harvard Business School. I do not have my MBA but rather I graduated from the OPM program at HBS and, thus, I am an alumna of HBS. The OPM program spanned a period of three years, where we attended classes, one month per year. We did, in fact, have the same course load as the MBA participants but our ages ranged from 26-65. All of my classmates had extensive life-work experience and that is the primary difference. We did have the same professors and the same case study approach to our subject matter. It was perhaps one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, not from an intellectual point of view but, rather, from a human point of view. Our classmates are still very close and they all came to Rome, two years ago, for our class reunion.

--I, also, thought it might be interesting to include my family history. I am a 11th generation descendant of Lord Waleran de Gyrlyngton, Lord of Gyrlyngton-juxta-Wycliffe in Richmonshire, England. This is an ancient family which dates back to 1100, in England. Subsequently, my ancestor Christopher Garlington immigrated to America, in 1638, and his heirs fought in the American Revolution. I am related to both George Washington and James Madison. I provided over ten references for this entry. One was, as your editor stated, a vanity publication. Although, it was published in 1976 and I never met the author. However, the other nine sources were books, some dating back to the 1500s. This was erased immediately by the editor who seems to have a great amount of animus towards me. I am accustomed to this type of anger. After all, I have been through thirty years of this type of reaction but when my husband was maligned and misrepresented then I had to respond.

--This editor wrote something implying my husband's family was tied to Mussolini. May I remind him or her that my husband was born in 1941. Furthermore, his grandfather Prince Francesco Boncompagni Ludovisi was the governor of Rome, under the King but when Mussolini entered into his insidious pact with Hitler, my husband's grandfather went underground assisting the allies. The Germans searched for him and they were under orders to kill him on sight. I am writing this quote from a plaque which is in front of me, "Presented to Francesco Boncompagni Ludovisi, Prince of Piombino, by the British Red Cross, as a small token of appreciation of their stay at the Villa Aurora, August 1944 to April 1946."

--I think the editor named Neil and the man named Guy Stair Sainty cleared up the issue of title or I hope they have. My husband does not claim to be a prince, he is a prince and he does descend from this noble family. I know one editor has a visceral reaction to nobility, etc. and that is his right. However, one cannot just erase a one thousand year history based on one's emotional feelings regarding nobles or aristocracy.

--Also, calling my ancestors slave traders is a bit of a stretch. As one editor correctly stated, I reacted due to the comments that were made. I and my family have always been at the forefront of the Civil Rights movement. As a small child, in an affluent school district, I invited my African American classmate to my birthday party, which was in a facility that was segregated. Please recall it was 1956, eight years before the Civil Rights Act was passed, in 1964. My mother and I stood at the gate of this Playland facility and demanded that this little boy be allowed in and he was. Additionally, I worked for Allard Lowenstein, on the University of Texas campus, at Austin, for the Bobby Kennedy campaign. I was in the Peace Corps. The point I am trying to make is that I am not easily stereotyped and this seems to enrage people.

Please let me hear from you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Princessrbl (talkcontribs) 07:50, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello George,

I did not sign my last entry to you. As I stated earlier, I am not very acquainted with Misplaced Pages. Please let me know if you are in receipt of my last message to you.
