These links go to individual lists of television stations by the markets in which they are located.

United States of America

See also Lists of television stations in North America, for lists of stations broadcasting in the United States for each state, listed by city of license.

In the U.S. the Federal Communications Commission divides the continent into |Television Market Areas (TMAs), according to the Code of Federal Regulations, at 47 CFR § 76.51. The TMAs not only delineate local broadcasts, but also delineate which channels will be received by Satellite or Cable subscribers ("must carry" rules). These market areas can also be used to define restrictions on rebroadcasting of broadcast television signals. Generally speaking, only stations within the same market area can be rebroadcast. The only exception to this rule is the "significantly viewed" list.

There are 210 TMAs regulated by the FCC within the United States. The markets are presented from highest household population to lowest population and are current as of 2007. For the most-recent up-to-date information on the FCC's Television Market Areas (TMAs), see: http://www.tvb.org/rcentral/markettrack/us_hh_by_dma.asp
