West Lothian or Linlithgowshire (Lodainn an Iar in Gaelic) is one of 32 unitary council regions in Scotland, and a Lieutenancy area. It borders onto City of Edinburgh, Falkirk and Midlothian.
The area is also a traditional county. As such, it borders Stirlingshire to the west, Lanarkshire to the south-west and Mid Lothian to the east.
