Request for image help
A large and growing number of Library and Archives Canada historical images hosted on Wikimedia Commons will soon be deleted. Many or most of these images can be uploaded to English Misplaced Pages under fair-use rationales. The other language wikis that use these images should also get fair notice that they will soon be gone, so they have the option to create their own non-free copies (if they're allowed).
Whether you're an expert on images or know almost nothing (like I did a few weeks ago), if you want to help, take a look at PictureBox. I have written up some guidelines there along with some sample text to help out. (Plus you can look at any of my latest edits to Image: space) The thing about image deletion is that someone took some care to put them in the article in a particular place where they add to the article - when the image gets deleted, it just silently vanishes and the work is lost forever.
