Undivided India, this term means India up to Partition Of India (including modern Republic of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh). In this sense Mughal India and Sultani period's India was also Undivided India as it was during British Raj. Does it mean Mughal India was involved in WW2? Charts
Hi
Just a progress update. I've been working with kipod at Module talk:Chart to get the templates for these going. We're nearly there, and the next step will be to put the real data in. You can see the "current" stuff at User:Begoon/sandbox/casualties.
Templates created for this are: Template:World War II casualties data, which contains all the data, and Template:World War II civilian casualties chart, Template:World War II military casualties chart, Template:World War II total casualties chart and Template:World War II casualties bar chart thumb which display the charts.
The next stage will be to enter real data - but when we do so, the problem I foresee is that the bar charts will be compressed for all the nations with "low" numbers, because of the very high numbers for nations like the Soviet Union. The solution I have in mind is to split them even further, into nations, say, over 2 million, and others. That will avoid so many "tiny" bars, but add to the number of charts.
That's not as bad as it sounds, because my thinking is that we will have to have a new page at World War II casualties charts and graphs to display the full size charts, with a bit of explanatory text, with small thumbnails of the charts at World War II casualties#Charts and graphs, linking to the new page. I think it will actually look good and very comprehensive done that way. The pie charts will also be redone with the new module, but the population pyramid might need to stay as is for now.
This will be better than the current situation, where chart thumbnails link to the file information page for enlarged versions, because the full size charts will actually be housed on the new sub article page World War II casualties charts and graphs which can have accompanying content, and the whole thing will look more professional - plus the data will be on wiki and updatable in one place. Of course it means it will take a while to do all that - but there's no WP:DEADLINE, after all... Let me know if this "wall of text" gives you any thoughts. Cheers. Begoon 06:33, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

- 823,230 and 1,836,000 are different contents. Do not mix them. Read it more attentively. 1,836,000 + 180,000 remained in the concentration camps untill liberation by the Soviet and the Allied troops. 823,230 have been released by the Germans in two stages: 1) (untill November 13б 1941) 318,770 Soviet Germans, Baltic minorities, Ukranians and Belorussians; 2) up to May 1, 1944 more 504,406 were liberated mostly for cooperation with the Germans or good for nothing incapacitated persons, not necessarily to join Vlasov's troops. World War II Casualties
Quite some time ago you responded to a question I had about WWII casualties. I'm not very savvy with Misplaced Pages, so I never realized you had replied. My question concerned casualties in the Pacific Theater. One of my substitute history teachers had served under MacArthur. He told our class that MacArthur gave orders to count every third dead in order to keep up morale. I don't know whether that was throughout the entire war or just in some battles where the US took heavy losses. This teacher was fairly old when I had him - about 70 or 75 in 1990 - so it's unlikely he would still be alive. I specifically remember that he was involved in the liberation of the Phillipines. He referred to the horrors that he witnessed in liberating POWs but was too overwhelmed to go into any detail for the class. Regarding counting every third dead, it's remotely possible he could have been talking about civilian dead, since there were so many, especially in the battle of Manila. What I'd like to know is, are the casualty totals listed in online sources considered accurate? "Crusade to Europe" vs. "Crusade in Europe"
Good morning, and Happy New Year. I noticed that in two articles recently (German casualties in World War II and German prisoners of war in northwest Europe) you have referred to Eisenhower's WWII memoir as "Crusade to Europe". At least the modern versions are titled "Crusade in Europe". Before I changed anything, I wanted to make sure that you didn't have some original copy or something where "to" is correct, or something like that. (Although, I did a Google search and I cannot find any evidence that the memoir ever used "to".) If you don't have a reason to the contrary, I would be happy to change it. Yes, I have read the book. The Introduction seems to me to be adopted for the Polish edition, becacuse it's about Polish people and the book is rather about Czech people.
- I believe that the book suggests that the government, army and security were "Polish" and doesn't inform about Soviet control over Poland.
- The book doesn't inform about the expulsion of Germans from the SU.
- "Human rights". The task seems to be to prove that the flight and expulsion were the biggest. They weren't the biggests in numbers of deported people and in the number of dead victims so it's the "Violation of human rights". Germans in pre-war Poland
While I can't help you with the Volksliste, the official statistics show only 700,000 Germans before 1st September 1939. The best source for info on Nazi policies in Poland is Madajczyk Czesław, Polityka III Rzeszy w okupowanej Polsce, t. 1-2, Warszawa 1970. Hey a little bit of a help here.
OK, when i looked into the U-Boat campaign during the First World War, I found the sentence that needed a bit of a correction. Here is sentence at the very last bottom of the "Mediterranean operations" section that said 40 American citizens were killed during the U-boat sinking of the SS Ancona. However, one must look into the SS Ancona article and it says that nine American citizens were killed. On the Google book search, some of the sources said that 11 or 20 American citizens were killed. https://www.google.com/search?q=SS+Ancano&btnG=Search+Books&tbm=bks&tbo=1#q=SS+Ancona+Americans+killed&tbm=bks Sounds like this one needed a lot of help. - All of the casualty records of the participants look like works in progress, with the baseline moving in each publication as missing turns into a more concrete category and post-war illness and injury are related to wartime or removed from the category for financial reasons. Problem with a bunch of users that continue to revert my edits in 9/11 articles.
Can you please look into this problem and at my user talk page? I have a problem with users like David J. Johnson and MOONGO who continues to revert my edits without giving explicit reasons why they did. https://en.wikipedia.org/User_talk:Tom_harrison#September_11_attacks_2 Here is an that I'm trying to fix at the very lead sentences at the beginning of the article. This is clearly a repetitive sentence which have no place in any article talk page whatsoever and ruins the credibility of the article. When I attempt to explain why, they started personal attacks by saying I don't have any plain English whatsoever when they clearly revert the one that has a grammar problem at all and attempt to gang up on me. Re: Sorting Icon WW2 casualties

All these tables in the World War II casualties article have been sortable since long time ago. And obviously, some of those data should definitely be sortable, while some should not. Knowing this, please help improve these tables and fix their problems if you can. Further table sorting guide :

Listen to me, I repeat, what I did is just making those little triangle icons appear (also some little color changing work). What I did is not making these table sortable, someone else made them sortable by adding "sortable" here in "class="wikitable sortable"". All these tables in the World War II casualties article have been sortable since long time before my edits.
And by reverting my edit, you did not make the whole table unsortable at all, they are still sortable, if user click on the header of table, the table will still sort. You just made these little triangle icons hidden, that's all, and it's nothing.
If you really feel the sorting completely useless and want to make the table completely unsortable, then remove the word "sortable" in "class="wikitable sortable"" please (this action will not only make it unsortable but also remove the triangle icons) . --Tomchen1989 (talk) 13:41, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Actually the two tables of Third Reich and USSR could be sortable, "Population", "Total War Dead 1941-45" "Deaths as % of 1939 population" "Total deaths" why shouldn't them be sortable ? I don't see any reason for that. However, these tables are really badly coded and broken, it would be better to fix the tables before applying sorting function to them. --Tomchen1989 (talk) 14:21, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
