Having improved his fitness, Browne headed into 2014 aiming to hold down a senior position. However, in the opening round of the NAB Challenge, the midfielder got his knee caught in a tackle and he tore his anterior cruciate ligament. He underwent a knee reconstruction and missed the whole year, but the club gave him a one-year contract extension through to the end of 2015 and he will be keen to cement his place in Essendon’s first-choice team. | |||
