Loose is the third album by Canadianpopsinger-songwriterNelly Furtado. It was released by Geffen Records on June 92006 outside North America and on June 202006 in Canada and the United States. Loose's release marked the first time that three lead singles were released simutaneously to promote the album, and this method helped the album to debut highly on charts across the world. Furtado primarily worked with Timbaland on the majority of the album's production and while she recorded with The Neptunes and Scott Storch, none of the songs written with them made the final track listing.
In Canada the album debuted at number one on the albums chart with 34,000 copies. It has made the top forty on most charts and to date has sold approximately one million copies.
Production history
Timbaland and Danja produced ten of the twelve tracks on the album. Another producer featured on the album is Lester Mendez (of Shakira's "La Tortura"). Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Juanes (whom Furtado collaborated on the hit record "Fotografía" from his Latin Grammy Award-winning album Un Día Normal) also appear on the album. Furtado also recorded with producers The Neptunes and Scott Storch but in the end none of their songs made the final cut. Another song, "I Am," leaked to the internet in early 2006 and circulated rumours that it would be on the finalized tracklist to Loose. However, as the release dates became finalized, as did the tracklists, and "I Am" was not featured.
On June 7, 2006, it was reported that Chris Martin's vocals in "All Good Things (Come To An End)" will be excluded from the song after a request by Martin's label EMI. The song is said to still be included in the album, however only Furtado's vocals will be featured. On Tuesday, June 27th, the version of "All Good Things (Come To An End)" leaked to the internet featuring Chris Martin's vocals.

The album has already been certified Gold in Switzerland, while the album hasn't charted there yet. The official Swiss Charts announced that over 15,000 copies of the albums have been sold already. In the UK Loose sold 33,263 copies in its first week.
On June 22, Furtado confirmed the second single in North America will not be "Maneater" as previously believed, but rather "Say It Right". The new single is expected to hit airwaves in early August internationally.
Loose debuted at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling more than 34,000 copies in its first week. On the U.S. Billboard 200, the album also debuted at number one with sales of 219,000.
