Craig Thomson affair
Yes, those obvious LNP supporters are being very foolish in wanting to use Bolt as a source. I have strong personal doubts about Thomson being as pure as the driven snow myself, but the approach of the Bolt pushers is never going to help their case. And it sure ain't encyclopaedic! HiLo48 (talk) 23:19, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
I suggest registering
Can I also suggest the you create a Misplaced Pages account yourself. It makes life a lot easier for all concerned, and improves your own credibility. Have a look at Misplaced Pages:Why create an account? to see why and how. Good luck. HiLo48 (talk) 23:19, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
suggestion ...
pathological liar - not good - no need to say that - please just remove it asap - please avoid personal attacks - focus on the content - read WP:NPA and avoid violations as blocks are easily given for such violations - thanks - Youreallycan 14:39, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you, and duly noted. Although you may be able to appreciate the situation whereby a deliberately false and defamatory insinuation is found, removed, and then re-inserted with false justification, some people may be reluctant to sugar-coat a negative fact. It appears to me that the editor to whom I referred knows how to play The Misplaced Pages Game well and know how to manipulate its rules. 121.216.230.139 (talk) 14:55, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- Since you raise the matter, may I suggest that you learn how to play "The Misplaced Pages Game"? The body of policies and procedures that have developed to allow editors from all communities and outlooks to create a useful encyclopaedia is one of the wonders of internet coöperation. I urge you to review WP:SIMPLE as an excellent resource to get you going. --Pete (talk) 00:09, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
WP:GAME. Take a hike. 121.216.230.139 (talk) 00:16, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
lulz
- Pete, get some perspective. You have been just as guilty of removing sourced material that you didn't like. Was that vandalism? You are edit warring. It's reportable. HiLo48 (talk) 01:22, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- Exactly. You can see why he was banned for a year. Heh. 121.216.230.139 (talk) 01:35, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Threats (was "Last warning")
Removing the 3RR warning is acceptable, refactoring the header is not. Once more and you will be reported to WP:ANI. --NeilN 02:48, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- Can I suggest that those condemning this user have a good look at all the recent behaviour at the threads in question. While rules may have been broken by this user, he was definitely provoked. The subject is a very sensitive one in Australian politics (it could bring down a government) and some editing has been very partisan in the most literal sense (i.e. opposition party members behaving badly here on Misplaced Pages). There's been bad behaviour in more than one place. HiLo48 (talk) 03:00, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- HiLo48, these kinds of games are what puts me off about contributing to Misplaced Pages - you find an article which has a obvious problems and blatant bias; you ask for experienced editors to sort it and little happens; someone like you comes along and tries to do the right thing; and then the kooks start playing their games with restoring their poorly sourced trash and defamatory libel, making dishonest edit summaries, etc, all the time baiting reasonable people and trying one's patience by playing stupid - and then admins come along and the kook plays innocent. My purpose in editing here is not to play Misplaced Pages Games; it is to put the facts in that article and ensure that it is neutral. Yet here we are, playing the kook's games. I believe this sort of nonsense drives many people away from Misplaced Pages who are capable of making some valuable contributions to it - and this experience has certainly put me off registering. 121.216.230.139 (talk) 03:40, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, I'd still very strongly recommend registering. As a general rule, much of the vandalism and bad editing is done by inexperienced editors, usually with only IP addresses. It labels you as an inexperienced novice, more likely to do the wrong thing. That may be prejudice, but it's real. HiLo48 (talk) 03:50, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Stick around
Hey, don't go. That's a really crappy article, now heading in the right direction. You and I making a fuss has probably led to that.
Have to tell you that most Misplaced Pages articles are not that controversial, and editing on those others can be a very rewarding experience. You put words together well, better than many here. Stick around. We need you. HiLo48 (talk) 10:25, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Personal attacks bordering on WP:NLT violation
This edit is not acceptable behavior here. Calling someone's edits "lies" and "libel" is a good way to get in trouble, and I suggest you find a less colorful way to express yourself. Continuing to address others in this way may be perceived as trying to have a chilling effect, as well as being generally disruptive, and may end up in administrative action. Seriously, please don't do this and force my hand. I'm not arguing against your points, only your methods. Instead, I would rather see the editors try to notch down the drama a bit and hash out the issues, in a slightly more civil manner. I have no opinion on the article content at Craig Thomson and see there are several good people on the talk page who are knowledgeable, so I will leave that in yours and their hands. Just thought I'd say sorry on behalf of my colleagues for all the biting that's been going on here. We're all imperfect, and we all make mistakes. I hope this doesn't put you off Misplaced Pages forever. ~Adjwilley (talk) 23:47, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
