Revision as of 22:13, 9 November 2008
I joined in August 2007.
I have several degrees in theatre / drama / film from universities in the UK and USA and will be contributing in these areas. I'm a lecturer in drama in London.
I'm currently dabbling in the philosophical terminology of Deleuze and Guattari, which seems to me to be ideal for an encyclopedia, as it's often quite dense. I'm particularly interested in how their semiotics is articulated with Foucault and Negri's concepts.
Developing the Constantin Stanislavski pages is on-going and I'm also trying to turn the Bertolt Brecht article into something even vaguely respectable - so far, I've written an introduction, the chronology of plays, the first biog bit, and done the bibliography, but there's a long way to go with it. These have taken a back-seat at the moment.
"Anyone can be creative, |
it's rewriting other people |
that's a challenge." |

Longer term, I'm thinking something on dramatic criticism / theatre criticism (in the sense of Poetics rather than reviews) and theatre semiotics. I expect I'll be dabbling in things like mimesis, representation and other general theatre-related critical concepts. So much to look at on here--some of the theatre pages are not up to scratch. I expect I'll be dabbling in Tragedy shortly.
Any comments are welcome on my talk page.
