Major General Michael Jeffery (born 1937) is the Governor-General of Australia. He was named as Governor-General Designate by Prime Minister John Howard on 22 June 2003, and sworn in on 11 August of that year.
Prior to being designated Governor-General, he had also been a state governor, serving as governor of Western Australia between 1993 and 2000.
General Jeffery, a decorated Vietnam veteran, served extensively in the Australian military before his term as Western Australian governor.
