Ayatollah Syed Aqeel-ul-Gharavi (born 5th July, 1964 in India) is one of the most highly regarded Shia islamic scholars of Indo-Pak subcontinent. He was born in india but his whole family migrated from India when he was very young. After completing his primary and secondary education, he decided to study religion in Qom despite of his interest in medical sciences. He got Ijazah in 1994 from Grand Ayatollah Makaremshirazi and became a mujtahid.

For last many years, he has been going to Pakistan to address majalis in Karachi and Lahore. He has also been addressing Majlis e Sham e Gharibaan on famous GEO TV channel for last 3 or 4 years.

Currently, he is living in New Dehli with his family and managing a Madrasah.
