== Municipalities of Serbia ==
:''] ''

Dear Wikimedian,
Hi and thanks for showing interest in this topic. First of all, the municipalities that recently gained city status are no longer municipalities, but are now cities (there are currently 24 cities). The cities may and may not be divided into "city municipalities" which are another, less important type of the municipality, subordinated to the city. The new Law on territorial organisation, adopted in 2007 says that the basic units of local self-government are ''municipalities and cities''. They are different, but are on the same level. Municipalities and cities are organised into ''districts''. The only exception is the ] which does not belong to any district, but is district on it's own.
*I think it is a good idea to put both cities and municipalities into one article, since they are the same level of self-government. I think You should propose a merger and movong the page to "]".
*You also proposed that the ] should than be moved to "]", but I worn You that there are already articles ] and ], and if we make ], there would be a huge overlapping between those. I don't know what would be the best thing to do. Please, give me Your opinion. ] (]) 23:54, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Hello, i would like you to ask for some help, if you would like to help of course. From previous experience i know that you are a good wikipedian. I am having some kind of an edit war with one user on the VANU(Vojvodjanska akademija nauka i umetnosti) article, i don`t know, maybe it is my fault and he is right, but if it is not to big of an trouble can you check it. The user i am having trouble edits an article without any reference and adds a lot of political speculations. By my opinion we should not mix culture with politics or SANU(Srpska akademija nauka i umetnosti) would be full of political speculations and controversy too. == New article suggestion ==

Hello No such user.

I noticed a while back your comment on this ] debate, and I was quite interested in your idea about having a summarized section for a small and or former political party (of Serbia) in one aritcle (example: List of politcal parties of Serbia). I'm sure you've noticed there are alot of Serbian politcal party articles no more than one or two sentences long, and while they may be worth mentioning, I think you would agree they still don't exactly justify having their own separate aritcles with such a miniscule amount of information available. So to get to the point, I propose we create a new article to sort of bulk them all together in... for instance: ''List of small and former political parties in Serbia''. Let me know what you think. Best regards. ] (]) 03:19, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

:Well, the problem with "List of small and former political parties in Serbia" is that it is hard to unambiguously define "small" :).
:Still, we do have ], which is fairly short by now. I suggest the following:
:#Expand the #Non-parliamentary parties section of that article, with a table similar to the list of parliamentary parties.
:#Create a ], split into two sections (1820-1945 and 1989-today)
:#Merge/redirect the sub-stubs into appropriate line (HTML anchor) of the list article.
:Now, one thing is not clear to me: according to , the limit for party registration renewal (2009-2010) was fairly high 10,000 voter signatures. If I recall correctly, only ~50 parties passed that threshold in 2010 (that would be the ones for our main article); according to , the correct figure is reasonable 72. However, lists 446 active organizations? Where does that discrepancy come from? ] (]) 15:25, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello,

I noticed that you have been reverting IP 95.180.18.56 ,but it is not lucid to me that whether you are in a dispute over content with the user, or what you do are reverting vandalism. If you are in a dispute over content, you need to discuss edits. But if not, you need to report the Ip user for vandalism and may ask edit protection for the moot articles, instead of reverting to and fro.--] (]) 10:28, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
:You need to be careful if the admins do not always consider the edits of the Ip user to be vandalism. I suggest that you try to start a discussion with the IP user, tentatively, and if there is no response to your attempt, the IP user needs to be reported for edit-warring . Because if those edits would have been always vandalism, then in my opinion, your reports should have had some kind of effect on ].
::It is indeed a difficult situation, but if I were you , I would not not report the IP user for edit warring at once, because if those edits do not look obvious vandalism, you may also be blocked for edit warring. So try to discuss content changes first, and if your attempt is in vain, go to the edit-warring board to fill a report then. --] (]) 11:01, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the amendment on ] dealing with the observation on mentioning Croats twice. I've edited your version slightly so that the sentences become one and readers are not confused as to why we mention Krashovani and the fact that they are Croat. Be that as it may, it has occurred to me why I presented it as such and that was because it is not only in Romania where there are Croats speaking Torlak but in Kosovo too (locally the ]). It elevates the Croatian importance but I don't know how best to present this; perhaps we should go back to my original and then introduce the ''multi-ethnic identifying'' Krashovans as a fifth people because of their geographical exclusion. I say multi-ethnic because a handful do identify as Serb or even as ''Krashovan'' itself. Any thoughts? ] ('''Евлекис''') 16:01, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

:As far as I know, Janjevci do not speak Torlak: they are descendants of Dubrovnik merchants, and speak a mixture of Shtokavian substratum and surrounding dialects (which are mostly Torlak). I rephrased the sentence slightly again, trying to sort the groups by size. ] (]) 10:38, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
::Nicely put. I'm happy with it as it stands. I knew that the Janjevs originated from Dubrovnik and would have brought with them the contemporary speech form and over time incorporate elements of the surrounding forms. I just thought after so many centuries through natural language evolution that the two distinct forms (Janjev and Torlak) would have levelled themselves with Janjev words even permeating the wider Torlakian. Maybe this is a chapter of history where the linguisic issues have not been researched thoroughly by anybody but for the knowledge we have now, your description is clear, and well done on spotting the Gorani whom I totally forgot, and you're right to list them as an ethnicity and not subgroup of someone else. Of course there are smaller nations with the Torlak frame but there is no need for an exclusive list, so I shall keep the section as it is. == Re: disambiguating villages in .rs, .ba ==

I'm using the simplest logical form in English, but I don't care for enforcing that foreign naming scheme :) I won't object to such harmonization, but I won't go out of my way to proliferate the scheme either - it's both an unnatural form on en: (it's doubtful any actual person will ever come looking for a parenthesized form) as well as an apparent waste of bytes (min 2 rather than min 1). Those are the likely reasons why it's not used for other, more en:-native places, and why it should be replaced. I'm guessing it was brought about by a raw import from elsewhere, and was not properly discussed in the context of en: wiki. Just for the record, I noticed hr: wiki also uses it, and I disapprove of that, too :) --] (]) 14:43, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

: OK, but that scheme requires me to spend even more time analyzing the article while disambiguating, to find what the right suffix is... granted, I do usually notice the municipality when it's usually in the lead sentence. It's still a clear mark of a scheme that isn't geared towards English readers - it's always a set of two foreign words, rather than a foreign word plus an English word from a relatively constrained data set (the list of countries) that they're likely to recognize. --] (]) 18:06, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello NSU. I had to revert you on the above article for precisely the reason you restored the word "regime", you described the term "administration" as a euphemism when in fact it is no such thing! It is only when one's feelings are so negative to a subject that, "he can no longer be a MAN but a BEAST!". The word ''regime'' if used correctly refers to an entire power base from top to bottom and the system too, all in all this is encompasses so much that there is little need to use the word on Misplaced Pages except when referring to "regime change". Why? As you may know, a change on government within a democratic system does not amount to regime change; I won't go into why but I'll jujst state that when you say this, you are acknowledging that "one regime has been replaced by another". However, you will never encounter a reference to a "regime" to mean one's own system, nor to we use the word liberally. Nowhere will you find on WP, "the Obama regime", "Angela Merkel's regime" or even "the Israeli regime". Unless we can use this word objectively and universally, it violates WP's NPOV policy. If for another reason you do not like "administration", tell me and we can work on something else as there are a few solutions. Thanks. ] ('''Евлекис''') (]) 12:29, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

:TLDR. Anyway, when a government is universally known as a fascist dictatorship, there only NPOV is to call it that way, and "regime" is generally used for oppressive governments. You might want to count Google hits for and , as well as our own counts for the and . In such cases, "administration" refers to the bureaucratic units, not to the whole system; an "administration" does not kill people, generally. ] (]) 12:50, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
::That's just IT! You hit the nail on the head so I don't need to explain! One uses "regime" to refer to an "oppressive government" but never for anything else, it is therefore POV given its actual meaning is something else. Notice even you did use the word "government" which I tend to use but on this occasion I have gone for something else. I have amended the text to remove ''administration''. The problem with that discussion, was that it was not clear what the correct name should be. Several names were mentioned, but I did not see a case being made for any of these based on ]. Also no information was presented to help indicate which name is most frequently used in reliable sources, only a discussion about one book. So given that, there simply was no case that I could see saying that this should be moved. I have no objection to you opening another discussion, but you will need to build a clear case or the outcome will be the same. Also how other wikis list this does not help since they have different guidelines and policies. The relisting I did was a clear indication that a no consensus close was likely. With no comments posted after that, the no consensus close should not come as a surprise. Is there some naming convention that was not mentioned that would give me grounds to change the close? ] (]) 18:32, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi,

I have seen your message regarding the edits I have made to Serbian cities during Census 2011. The reason for my edit is that the municipality data is the only available data to date, and in Serbia a city's population generally includes the entire population under the administration of the local authority.
I will, however, distinguish between Urban and Municipal populations when I receive the first preliminary results from the Statistics office of Serbia as this is the norm on Misplaced Pages.
Thanks for the heads up!

== Regarding lede and edit warring ==

this is what I wrote:

I did give reasons, about CONSISTENCY with other WP articles. With Calabria, for example, you see "region of Italy" right in the opening sentence. But for some stupid reason, you have biased editors not doing that with Sicily, with the opening sentence. Just putting idiotically in the first sentence "largest island in Mediterranean" is (again I'll say it) NOT CONSISTENT with other WP articles with opening sentences, in the lede. So simply put, you're both wrong. The point is this though too. NoSuchUser has NO business reverting anything that is accurate, just because "]." (Or because he may think it's a bit redundant, which is debatable in a sense, but ignores the fact that every single other article on regions of Italy, have the words "region of Italy" in the very first sentence.) Putting "region of southern Italy" in the opening line is accurate, valid, sourced, and good-faith. WP policy and recommendation is NOT to revert. If one bothers to read the policy on this matter. And he's just plain wrong when he says that he's not required to give a reason for reverting. Uh, yeah, he does have to give a reason or "explain" according to WP policy and recommendation. But regardless, I DID give an explanation for that, and there's no valid reason to revert, simply because this perhaps biased editor "NoSuchUser" does not like it read that way. He does not own this article, yet in this matter he's acting as if he does. Not cool. Again, saying "region of southern Italy" is simply a fact, and is sourced...and I'll say it again...IS MORE CONSISTENT WITH OTHER WP ARTICLES...regarding regions of Italy articles. Case closed. Regards. ] (]) 20:40, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

== Assumptions and clarity... ==

I did read the second sentence. A long time ago. And you're presumptuous to think I never did. And it doesn't matter though. And it doesn't really matter about Sardinia, because that's wrong too. And I knew about that already. And that's why I said GENERALLY consistent. Also, as I said before, it doesn't matter about 150 years ago, as it's dealing with what it is NOW. And it doesn't matter that it's an island, because that's not really the main issue as to Sicily being Italian or part of Italy. You know how many ignorant morons are in the world who think that Sicily is a separate country???? Too many. And putting an idiotic lede of only "largest island in Mediterranean", if they don't bother to read the second sentence (which many won't) will only tend to foster that ignoramus idiocy. Sicily is part of Italy, and that should be made clear RIGHT OFF THE BAT. Also, it's MORE consistent with how other regions of Italy are in WP articles. Also, again, you have NO business reverting an edit that is technically accurate and sourced, simply because you don't personally like it or have problems with it. According to WP policy and recommendation. I'm tired of this with you. For real. ] (]) 13:34, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

First of all, that block has NOTHING to do with this (and it was 24 hours not 48, and the other person got blocked also for violating 3RR). Number two: I never called you or anyone an "idiot". Not sure where you're seeing that. So stop lying and stop hallucinating. Number three: you have posted on MY page, but somehow it's wrong for me to post on yours. Number four: about number one, do you know that the other person was ALSO blocked for violating 3RR that I myself reported on, and also it was a 24 hour block, not 48 hours. Again, that has nothing to do with this. I could have been blocked, about something else, and you could still be technically wrong on this matter. So don't be biased and arrogant with me. And don't accuse me of calling "idiot" when I never did. After this, I'm through with you. I won't even acknowledge anything you write or say to me. I knew you had issues way in the past, with that uptight nonsense about photos, that you brought up again that has nothing to do with the lede. You're out of line, and I'm writing you off. But if you undo any edit on that article, for no reason again, I'll just undo you (but I'll keep it at 3RR, so I won't get a 24 hour block that you can throw in my face, idiotically.) Edits are a bit questionable, and i dont see any talk page activity. --<span style="text-shadow:grey 0.2em 0.2em 0.1em; class=texhtml">]]</span> 14:47, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
:I thought Bokisanisa had good intentions, but I'm having second thoughts. A lot of small, obscure (and unreferenced) edits on Serbian mountains of questionable validity. SPI is of no use, it is not forbidden to change the account (and it's obviously the same person). Let's have an eye on him and wait... ] (]) 20:24, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

== Voivoda ==

Since you help sort out fact i will translate you text from Serbian Misplaced Pages written by me, form 4 books that all have ISBN code.

Text translated:

''Voivoda (Duke) was the highest rank in the army of the Kingdom of Serbia and Kingdom of Yugoslavia before the Second world war. Introduced by the Law on the Organization of the Kingdom of Serbia in 1901. at the suggestion of then Defense Minister Colonel Milos Vasic, who was his creator. It has been awarded only during the war, such as: special merits top generals. Voivode rank for general made the changes in the officer ranks. Instead of the former division of the upper and lower core, introduced a new category - Generals, made up of the two highest rank - general and voivoda. In this rank where promoted generals during the Balkan Wars and the First World War. The Army of the Kingdom of Serbia and Kingdom of SHS (Kingdom of Yugoslavia) had four Voivoda (Duke's): Radomir Putnik, Stepa Stepanović, Živojina Musić and Peter Bojović. In the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the honorary title of Voivoda was awarded a French Marshal Franchet d'Epere for his contribution to Serbia during World War I. The Army of the Kingdom of SHS (Kingdom of Yugoslavia) was made the new general's of the new law in 1923. By which the rank of general was divided into four instead of two ranks. This was done by the French system of grading: Brigadier General, Divisional General, Army General and the Voivoda (Duke) who remained highest and honorable rank. King Peter, King Alexander I and King Peter II as supreme commanders did not wear the rank but were considered to be honorary Voivoda's (Duke's). Before this act, an honorary rank in the army of the Kingdom of Serbia in 1900. up in 1901. was an army general.''

Thats all part form article but i can scan book to prove that he's wrong. What you think. And King of Yugoslavia was only supreme commander but he wear Voivoda rank epaulets.

Thats for the help and support. ] ] 22:11, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

:Um, isn't it obvious that I '''can''' read Serbian? But, Peacemaker wasn't asking for translation of that sr.wp passage (Google Translate does a decent job of it), but for the relevant book passage.<br/>But anyway, what is being contested at all? I think we proved that ''Field Marshal'' is a translation/equivalent of the term ''vojvoda/voivode'', so it's more or less editors' choice which one to use. I don't think the issue is so important to deserve wasted kilobytes of discussion. Why don't you add those clarifications and references to ], for the start? ] (]) 07:01, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Ah, yes, I seem to have selected the wrong diff. Normally I'd avoid blocking someone for a comment directed at me, but when it's someone I've never interacted with before, I don't worry about it much. FWIW, I take someone with three civility blocks over the last three months (somewhat equally spaced) as engaging in a continuous pattern of bad behaviour, not having some old problems they've moved past. ]<font color="FF8800">]</font> 07:21, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
