What other information could be posted on such a page other than scores? Do you know how hard it is to research this information on old micro-films? :According to my 6/e Campbell, that stuff doesn't count as part of the gene, and our articles concur. Does that mean transcription would not be affected by a change in the genes? --]]] (] | ] | ]) 05:38, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
::I haven't a Campbell laying around, but the ] article certainly lists the ] as part of the gene, as well as the statement "Most genes contain non-coding regions that do not code for the gene products, but regulate gene expression". Truthfully, when most people say "gene" they really mean "coding sequence". A point mutation within the coding sequence on the DNA is fairly unlikely to cause a change in the transcription of that mRNA—but it's not impossible. We've only scratched the surface in terms of how expression is regulated. A point mutation may alter, say, a ] site (]), changing the expression. (On a larger scale, see ]). Some genes produce protein products that regulate their own expression and a point mutation altering the amino acid sequence could affect that interaction. If one does not restrict discussion to point mutations, but considers deletions, inversions, insertions and duplications, the odds are greater that a given alteration of the DNA sequence my affect transcription.
::Outside of the protein-coding sequence, altering an ], ], ] site or any number of regulatory, ]s, could change mRNA expression of one or more genes. -- ] 20:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

==Methylaluminoxane==
Please explain why you restored an incorrect diagram for MAO? It's a poorly-defined substance, drawing it as a polymer is simply wrong. ] 19:28, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi. MAO is a co-catalyst which is used to alkylate and ionize metallocene and post-metallocene catalysts. These are used to generate polyolefins, which is why it "shows up" in an article about polymerization. MAO can not form a polymeric structure - the electronics aren't right. Current best estimates are that it forms oligomeric structures, based around cyclic structures. There's a whole field of research trying to work out what the mixture of species in MAO solution are, mostly led by Tom Ziegler using DFT to investigate it.

MAO is pretty much a "black box" - it works, and that's all that really matters. It was discovered by accident when a grad student accidentally hydrolized TMA. The unpredictability of MAO is why most structural investigations into cation structure use perfluoroarylborate initiators instead of alkyl aluminiums.

If you want to see the evidence, read the Marks ''Chem Rev'' from 2000, or any of the more recent Ziegler papers discussing modelling. ] 22:20, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I see you marked this article for speedy deletion. I almost did the same but couldn't find a CSD that it fell under, so I used the prod process instead. One small thought: if you come across an article that is tagged for prod (or AfD) and you decide to nominate it for speedy, could you leave the prod notice in place? ==re webquest help links removed==
:I can't believe how you people run this place. WTF is wrong with you? There were 5 different linked sites that provided help on the Da Vinci Code webquests - 2 were for the original webquest and those links had been here on Misplaced Pages for several years without issue and were the most well-used resources for the webquests on the internet, and then 3 more links were recently added for help with the NEW Google webquests that just started this month. NOTE that these new Google webquests are not related to the older original webquests at all, and do NOT superced them in any manner. ONE person comes along who has created a new site that provides help ONLY for the NEW Google webquests (and no help whatsoever with the older original webquests), and this prat deletes ALL the links and information to ALL the webquest help sites both old and new, and replaces them with his own link, and when several site owners try to put their information back up, this clown repeatedly deletes it ..and then you mods back him up??? WTF is up with that??? PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR ACTIONS??? Your page now provides absolutely no links to help with the original webquests, and only one link for help with the new webquest, which is all thanks to this one selfish prat from googlefact.blogspot.com. Oh wait, there's one more link too, and that's to his mirror site at davinciquest.blogspot.com. How can you justify your actions? The owner of googlefact.blogspot.com also posted on the site of one of the links he removed (student-rant.blogspot.com), to laugh at everyone and thank us all for the traffic and the ad-impression revenue it is generating for him. AND THIS IS WHAT YOU PEOPLE SEEM TO CONDONE???? If you could give some reason for your actions then perhaps all of us site owners who were deleted could understand, but we do not see that there is any justification for what you have done, nor has anyone offered any. The ONLY message we're getting here is that it pays to manipulate Misplaced Pages for personal gain and delete everyone else's links but your own. WE HUMBLY REQUEST YOU RECTIFY THIS MATTER AND THEN LOCK THE PAGE TO STOP THE PERSON WHO STARTED ALL THIS FROM DOING IT AGAIN - which happens to be the one link you have left on the page. At a bare minimum, restore the help links to the original webquests so people looking for help with them can actually get some. I still can't believe how unjustly you mods have administered this matter so far. The person who instigated this 'war' appears to be the person who posted above - Roger Bales. Explain your actions Roger and try telling the truth.

I also have a duplication concern per this article : http://en.wikipedia.org/Lick_my_ass ] (]) 06:59, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

After reading over the "Random Blank Areas" I discovered that they were generally false and were not supported by any sources. November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Misplaced Pages policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Misplaced Pages because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Misplaced Pages easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Misplaced Pages. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
The last AC meeting (full log)
 • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
 • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Misplaced Pages.
 • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
 • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Misplaced Pages policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
 • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Misplaced Pages is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
 • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Hey, I just noticed that you offered to test, which is great! I have a sourceforge page with a bug and feature tracker running. Right now the app isn't fully functional as clicking either of the revert buttons doesn't actually revert as I've yet to write the code. I suspect I'll get that part up and running within the next 2 days. I'll point you to the download after that. Cool? --Brad Beattie 05:27, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, the screenshot isn't a mock-up or anything. That's the in-development program running. Still a few things to be polished up, but I'll get it to you within 48 hours. :)

Okay, I got the most recent version up. I was working on integrating the webview, but I had to scrap it for this release as the MediaWiki API isn't yet letting me programmatically submit changes to articles (meaning we can't yet easily have a one-click revert button). So here's what you do: go and download the most recent version. Load it up and go nuts. Gimme a call on Skype if you're running into any problems. Cool? --Brad Beattie 11:51, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Also, here's the bug tracker and the feature tracker. Upload some new ones if you see anything and I'm not online. --Brad Beattie 12:11, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

The toolbar bug you're seeing is the result of having a previous version of WikiGuard installed, I think. Just drag the default toolbar back onto it. That should solve that. As for the other bugs, I've put them into the tracker and I'll take a look at them today. Much appreciated! --Brad Beattie 01:48, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

do you know, for sure that 24.80.106.240 editing Homophobia is not actually Supercraft99?

is that IP a known spoofer or sock-artist? just curious. i've seen people edit from an IP and sign their WP username and i've never seen this get blanked by someone else, except maybe in the Bogdanov affair. r b-j 00:44, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Well...I have some evidence both ways. 24.80.106.240 belongs to somebody in Canada, and Supercraft99 is, in fact, located in Canada. However, the IP is from Alberta whereas Supercraft99 is from British Columbia (according to his userpage). I don't really like impersonators, but perhaps I should have left this alone? What do you think? --M1ss1ontomars2k4 01:49, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
it's just that Homophobia is a really hot (as in controversial, perhaps i should call it "toxic" or "radioactive") WP article. it's been frozen since last month and, even with a mediator poking her head in, has had a lot of acrimony expressed in the talk page. if you know it isn't really Supercraft99, it should be removed. i dunno what to say if you have a good suspicion but not an air-tight case it is. the real Supercraft99 oughta be able to revert the deletion (hopefully logged in), but if the IP (or even someone else) reverts it, i would not delete it again, unless you know for sure it's a spoof. at least that's my judgement about it. r b-j 02:32, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello, it's Supercraft99 here. Sorry, I was tired and forgot to log in when I posted on the talk page. About the Alberta thing, my Internet Service Provider, Shaw, has it's head offices in Alberta. Supercraft99 04:38, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Welcome

Hi, M1ss1ontomars2k4, and welcome to WikiProject
San Francisco Bay Area
!

We are a growing community of Misplaced Pages editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles relevant to the Bay Area. Here are some points that may be helpful:

 • Our main aim is to help improve Bay Area-related articles, so if people ask for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
 • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page. It is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
 • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, which you are welcome to participate.
 • Our system for improving lower-quality articles is Jumpaclass. If you'll be editing stub, start, or B-class articles, consider using Jumpaclass to track your progress.
 • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign Bay Area topics.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

Again, welcome! We hope you enjoy working on this project.

P.S. Right now we're focusing on tagging everything Bay Area-related. You can pitch in by adding {{SFBAProject | class=}} to the top of talk pages of articles. Think of anything Bay Area-related — it helps if they're obscure local articles no one else might think of. Click here if you need more information on assessing articles. Thanks!

Your screenshot of VandalFighter

On the VF page I noticed your screenshot of the application. When I run it, it doesn't use the OS X interface elements like yours, but instead has a nasty, grey, Windows 95 looking one. Are you doing anything particular to make it look like this, or is it an odd configuration on my end? Matt J 21:10, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

I just downloaded 3.3, and that has the OS X interface, I guess if I want to use 3.5, I'll have to bear the nastyness. Matt J 09:38, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
I have further investigated, and it seems that every version up until the newest version in the 3.5 download page uses OS X widgets. Matt J 11:07, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Transcription

A mutation within the protein coding sequence isn't generally expected to affect the synthesis of said gene's mRNA, but can certainly affect gene translation. If one considers the term "gene" to encompass all of the important non-coding sequences associated with each proteins's DNA coding sequence (promoter regions, splice sites, polyadenylation sites), then the answer is most certainly yes. -- Scientizzle 01:18, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

According to my 6/e Campbell, that stuff doesn't count as part of the gene, and our articles concur. Does that mean transcription would not be affected by a change in the genes? --M1ss1ontomars2k4 05:38, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
I haven't a Campbell laying around, but the gene article certainly lists the promoter as part of the gene, as well as the statement "Most genes contain non-coding regions that do not code for the gene products, but regulate gene expression". Truthfully, when most people say "gene" they really mean "coding sequence". A point mutation within the coding sequence on the DNA is fairly unlikely to cause a change in the transcription of that mRNA—but it's not impossible. We've only scratched the surface in terms of how expression is regulated. A point mutation may alter, say, a DNA methylation site (CpG site), changing the expression. (On a larger scale, see Fragile X syndrome).
Outside of the protein-coding sequence, altering an initiation site, termination sequence, polyadenylation site or any number of regulatory, non-coding RNAs, could change mRNA expression of one or more genes. -- Scientizzle 20:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Chinese Indonesian Article

Why did you undo my changes (removed 'China totok' from transliteration list of 'Indonesian Chinese') on 31 May 2006? I explained the removal in the Talk page of that article. I've removed it again for now, if you think that is not appropriate, can you post a reason in the Talk page of the article? Thanks Benny Benjamin 14:24, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Merck-information.com

Thanks for pulling me up on my 6+ month old edits! Looking at Special:Contributions/75.11.169.96 shows that they added a series of Google adsense links over a number of Merck articles. Merck-info is not an official site and the links added nothing over the official site already linked. It seems as though Merck-info has since lost their Google program though, probably for abuse, as there are no links any more! --Steve (Stephen) 04:34, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Help Vandalism

I am contacting you because you not only have edited the page Spells in Harry Potter, but are experienced in anti-vandalism. There is an IP that is continuously placing incorrect information onto the page (accidentally I think). I reverted this normally the first time, but when they entered in the same information, I reverted it as vandalism and gave them a substitute warning (which wouldn't format correctly for some reason). In the warning, I not only warned him, but explained calmly why their edit was incorrect. They then continued to edit the page, and I to revert it as vandalism. I gave them a more serious warning after this, and not long after, my user page was vandalized. I gave them a pretty serious attacking others warning (which I probably should have made less severe) and now I have no clue what to do. •Malinaccier• 01:43, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

WP:CVU status

The Misplaced Pages:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Methylaluminoxane

Please explain why you restored an incorrect diagram for MAO? It's a poorly-defined substance, drawing it as a polymer is simply wrong. Iridium77 19:28, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

If you want to see the evidence, read the Marks Chem Rev from 2000, or any of the more recent Ziegler papers discussing modelling. Iridium77 22:20, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Re: Drug abuse ref?

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lindowsos091.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Lindowsos091.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:01, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Usbovercurrent.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Usbovercurrent.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. OK, I think I get it: there is a Tiger for Intel, but it was never sold as a separate product: it was only available as a preinstall on Intel Macs, since they were introduced when Tiger was the current release. Is that right?--NapoliRoma 01:16, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Compromised?

Hello there.

Your account appears to have been compromised since it just went on a rash of very uncharacteristic vandalism; I have blocked it indefinitely. If you want, you can establish your identity and we can unblock it. — Coren 20:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, its nothing personal. The relevant ANI post is at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Peculiar actions of apparently non-vandalist editor. Well, we're starting to think there's nothing wrong here and you should be unblocked whenever. In the mean time, you can create an alternate account to take part in the discussion (We are blocking you because we think your account is compromised, not because your a vandal or anything like that, so it's okay)--Phoenix-wiki 21:08, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
To the extent I was involved in setting off this unfortunate chain of events, I do want to tender my apologies. I knew just enough German to have been horrified by the articles' headers, but not enough Mozart to know that these were real pieces of music. I will point out that I did try to make sure that other editors were involved, in case it was my own ignorance at fault; and I didn't expect anybody to just jump in and block you right off the bat. I hope this has not interfered with your work in Misplaced Pages since (as I said) you have a good record here. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC) (a fellow Mac user, still running his tangerine iMac)

Speedy deletion of VectorMagic

A tag has been placed on VectorMagic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion of Template:User editcountitis

A tag has been placed on Template:User editcountitis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

User talk:76.19.82.136

Hi, I noticed this user's edits to Fluid statics at the same time as you but you made corrections before me. However, I do think that your comment on the user's talk page was way over the top. Assuming good faith (from what I can see the edit was correct) is, as I'm sure you're aware, a big part of Misplaced Pages. Berating a newbie for making what appears to be an honest mistake on their first edit is a sure fire way to put people off our encyclopedia! Pokemon Red Blue Glitch City

Hi, you voted a while ago in favour of some mention of Glitch City in the Pokemon Red/Blue article. Unfortunately, despite admin saying a Glitch section would be ok, the main editor of the page is turning it into a war, constantly deleting it despite sources and Pokemon-culture relevance. If you have an interest in keeping this kind of interesting information in wikipedia, please come over to Pokemone Red and Blue and help get the small Glitches section reinstated. TI-BASIC

The recent edit you added to TI-BASIC puzzled me when I read it. Of course both of us know about recursion and how TI-84 programs can call on each other while running, I personally don't believe it contributes to the article and it might seem a little too in-depth when the article mainly exists to inform about the general idea of TI-BASIC. If you want to perhaps re-edit it or revise it in some way, I think it would be more beneficial. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. -Delux- DeluxNate (talk) 15:29, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

After having several of my own edits involving examples of programs removed, it seems contradictory that admins would allow you to put a lengthy program on recursion (of all things) on the article. I'm just saying it seems pointless to the article, when all you would have to state is that recursion is possible. Good call on the / sign. Wasn't recalling the same thing. -Delux- DeluxNate (talk) 17:43, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
That's okay. Sorry for getting in your way. I hope you understand, but that's the way I was treated so I figured I was doing the right thing. -Delux- DeluxNate (talk) 17:54, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Welcometovti.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Thank you for uploading File:Tilp2window.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:29, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:Rhododendron2.jpg

File:Rhododendron2.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Rhododendron2.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Misplaced Pages, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Misplaced Pages, in this case: ]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. Orphaned non-free image File:Cpu-z.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Cpu-z.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. IngerAlHaosului (talk) 10:33, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

File:Methylaluminoxane.svg

Hi there

I've deleted your image File:Methylaluminoxane.svg because it does not represent methylaluminoxane well. That this file exists causes problems because having no image listed causes any image with the same name as the article title to be displayed. Thanks for your understanding. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 17:54, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Chax.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chax.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:15, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Leck mir den Arsch fein recht schön sauber

The article Leck mir den Arsch fein recht schön sauber has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Articles content is questionable and trivial, seems overall dubious to have an article about this particular composition. How much more notable can it be? Its more of a vulgarity then a work of musical art.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JasonHockeyGuy (talk) 06:35, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

I also have a duplication concern per this article : http://en.wikipedia.org/Lick_my_ass JasonHockeyGuy (talk) 06:59, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Misplaced Pages:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles 05:10, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Algámitas

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Algámitas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Algamicagrat (talk) 21:00, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Dielectric responses.png

Thanks for uploading File:Dielectric responses.png.

If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Misplaced Pages's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (tc) 14:48, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of IC 442

The article IC 442 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't seem to meet WP:NASTRO. No significant coverage in studies, not in a catalogue of note (Messier or NGC), not visible to the naked eye, and not discovered before 1850.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
