Hi there! you say you were having a little bit of trouble with fair use images, well fair use images mean that they are from othr websites and have only been permited for use on certain areas of Misplaced Pages, for example fair use images should not be used on User pages, for more info (I know it seems long and hard) but please see ]. For the fair use rationale then you can use this template when uploading fair use images:

For more information on this you may wish to see the ], if you would like the image to be kept on wikipedia in which I noted you about above all you need to is remove the ''no rationale'' template I placed and add what I typed above for the template and fill the gaps in and that will make it suitable not to be deleted, however you have seven days for the images so if this is not done within this time then they will be speedily deleted but it gives you a lot of time to sort it. Hi, I see that you emptied ] and nominated it for speedy deletion ]. I'm not sure if that is the correct procedure in this case. Shouldn't it be nominated for speedy deletion per ]? Yes I will edit it. I responded to the talk page on the Despina Vandi wikipedia that you wrote too. As I said there, it is my little project to improve the discograpies of some of the Greek singers over prob. the next month. I'll get to it very soon. Aside for those historical relevance reasons I mentioned on your other account, I just want to further express to you the significance of adding Columbia as well to releases pre-"Eho Sta Matia Ourano" for Kaiti Garbi. Back then Columbia at Sony Music Greece operated as an imprint that took centre stage. I remember Atofio Hrisafi (94) around when Kaiti shot to super-stardom- it was well labeled (as in marketed/advertised) that Kaiti's albums were Columbia releases, perhaps even offsetting the Sony Music label which was probably at the time the name of the company (Sony Music Entertainment Greece S.A.).

For Sony BMG releases, example Anna Vissi or Kaiti Garbi, I think we should also include Columbia. LOOOL

My reasoning is as follows:

1. Columbia is still inscribed as an imprint on the back cd covers and on the spine next to the Sony BMG logo and it's just as big.<br />
2. For Kaiti Garbi it would be nice to include it on her albums because it shows a continuity that hasn't ceased yet, and its nice to see that 90% of her career was associated with the oldest name in recorded music.<br />
3. Of course since the marketing today is Sony BMG only unlike in the 90s when Columbia was more up and front, we can just put it after sony BMG as such: Sony BMG / Columbia (and this also respects the order on the spines).<br />
4. As in the ] article there have been talks of a de-merger, so transitioning back to columbia / sony music will ensure more consistency in some sense.<br />

The reason why I was putting Columbia before Sony Music (the company) is because we had established how Columbia was really important and was at the forefront, especially in the 90s, in marketing/advertising. We are a WikiProject about the Eurovision Song Contest originally, but our umbrella now includes pretty much every song contest, every event organized by the EBU, and every person, place, or entity that had a role in a contest (venue, hosts, spokespersons, commentators, etc.). There are some basic forks for staying a WikiProject:
:*'''WikiProject Song Contests''', and we say bye to many of the other EBU contests (]?), while bringing on many more (], ]?). It sort of felt we were going in this direction as our specially-designed templates and infoboxes were renamed and gained so much flexibility for non-ESC events. This intimidates me as it brings on a lot of work, but could also bring on new editors. Not sure if there is enough overlap in interest across the contests though.
:*'''WikiProject Eurovision (refocused)''', and we drop the emphasis on the EBU, while also trimming the tangential articles that will only have 1-2 sentences about Eurovision anyway. For example, ] is always a top article in ], but it will never have any substantial information for our WikiProject to create or patrol, and this is also while remembering that the ] is a relatively non-notable event to begin with, it just follows a known formula so it exists here. In my head, I think I was leaning towards a combination of 1 and 2 in your list. I agree that "WikiProject Song Contests" is probably where we were heading anyway, but I definitely don't think we should be expanding to include talent shows like The Voice, American Idol or ]. I don't believe that these are "song contests" in the traditional sense, because there's almost no original songs happening on these shows, which I think is one of the prerequisites to classifying an event as a song contest. Additionally, I would steer clear of option 3, because I think that would open a can of worms a little bit that we might end up bogged down with technical articles like the one you included.

Looking at the ], it leans very heavily towards country and song articles, with a few artist articles as well. Of course we can't discount that the majority of editors involved within WP Eurovision aren't actually going to be interested in turning around an entire article and putting it through GA; of the articles nominated since the beginning of 2023, these have been contributed by seven editors total (and like 90% of these are the work of four editors, including us two). One artist article has been promoted to GA since 2023, and that wasn't even the work of a WP Eurovision editor. I think artists and songwriters are in a grey area where they could be justified for inclusion (artists more so that songwriters), but definitely broadcasters, venues, hosts, spokespersons, commentators, conductors, etc., I could completely justify removing from the scope of the WP. Your strange logic is beyond my comprehension because the choice for that Georgia example is simply fabulous. I will simply change the names to more familiar Kosovo/Serbia issue. Naturally when Kosovo joins the EBU, Serbia would continue to participate (hopefully) and Serbia's appearances would go in the article ]. Serbia without Kosovo is the legitimate successor to Serbia with Kosovo.

But, regarding ESC 1992 and the appearance of ''Yugoslavia'' (without the red star) we must understand the following:
*the Socialist Republic of Montenegro (dropped ''socialist'' in 1993) and the Republic of Serbia joined in a federal state called (the) Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in April 1992.
*that federal state claimed the successorship of SFRY during much of its existence (approximately up to October 2000) and well before joining the UN latter that same year.
*During all this time from the formation of FRY to its ascending to United Nations in 2000, the Flag of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (with the red star) continued to be flown in front of the main building of the United Nations in New York and other places of the UN.
*the Agreement on Succession Issues was signed by successors of the SFRY (Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Macedonia, the Republic of Slovenia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (comprising of the Republic of Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia), thus ending the FRY's campaign on the solemn successorship of SFRY. The Agreement was signed in 2001.

Nobody recognized FRY as the successor to SFRY and that praxis if existing on this Misplaced Pages is contrary with its own articles about the nations, states, representations of those nations, states in sports and other occasions.

(a historical intro) SFRY had no leading country around which it was formed, it was a union of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs up to 1929, then a federation of five nations (Croats, Macedonians, Montenegrins, Serbs and Slovenes) and seven territorial units in 1943 (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Sandzak, Serbia, Slovenia), soon Sandzak was split between Montenegro and Serbia in 1944 so we had six federal states up to 1946 then after Muslims were recognized as a nation so we had six nations and six people's republics. Then in 1974 Yugoslavia was ''de jure'' called a federation but it was ''de facto'' a confederation (opposite to Switzerland which is ''de jure'' a confederation and ''de facto'' federation) of six socialist republics and two socialist autonomous provinces (the socialist autonomous provinces were also ''attached'' to Serbia (this attachment happened in 1945 on the basis of self-determination of the nations and nationalities of the Autonomous Vojvodina and Autonomous Kosovo - each of the autonomous provinces for itself and on the basis of democracy and free choice of the people). Yugoslavia first came to existence after the First World War and before that time there was neither Yugoslavia nor the joint state of all of the ex-Yugoslavian nations and nationalities. Georgia existed for centuries, Armenia received Christianity in 301 A.D., and Serbia is an old medieval kingdom. So there is a big difference between Yugoslavia and those states/nations. The Yugoslav nation was only a state-ordered nomenclature which came to existence certain state-driven bodies and institutions, it was predominantly the citizenship (statehood membership of SFRY or in terms which are used in monarchies - subject of British King/Queen - subject of SFRY).

There are a lot of false sources, especially on the Internet and using the source which is obviously false would be damaging to the integrity of the articles to which a merge of the ] article is proposed (suggested). Also I would like to note that using just one source is a ] and we cannot remain blind to the attempts of merging without a proper merge template added to the talk page and without a consensus been reached. It would be oblivion and complete disregard of the efforts of number of editors who wrote articles regarding the former Yugoslavia to approve this merge. I would repeat my suggestion that you drop this issue and relinquish your request at the Administrator's notice board.

The above user was involved in a edit war quite some time ago apparently. The user has started adding material to ] falsifying the songs position in the eurovision song contest. The rankings work by the points received. She came joint last but the last three entries are listed in alphabetical order G for Germany P for Poland and U for UK. :I did notice that since I usually check up on most Eurovision changes. Onceloose tends to jump tp conlcusions too often as seen on ] where he accidently got into an edit war over the addition of a relevant category and then felt the need to revert my rewrite because there was apparently some "vandalism" in the edit before mine (I failed to find it). It is very strange that the ebu did not break the ties for the older contests, but they did for 2008 and we just have to go by what the official website says. Question

Hi, I see that you emptied Category:Albania in the Turkvision Song Contest and nominated it for speedy deletion WP:CSD C1. I'm not sure if that is the correct procedure in this case. Shouldn't it be nominated for speedy deletion per WP:C2F? The result will be the same, but the latter specifically says categories shouldn't be emptied before nominating them for deletion. ESC 2023 semi-final televote rankings

The tables are literally show the ranking by pretty much readable "How X voted". Only top 10 countries get the points by calculating votes while the others are still voted and still have a rank but without points. A rank doesn't need an abstract labeling number to count from up to down the position.
Also why though in the JESC 2021 pages (like Armenia) the calculated jury rankings are still written? Must they prove that they are actually correct as the website doesn't label that? 𝐒𝐦𝐭𝐡𝐧𝐠𝐧𝐰 02:49, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
They show the information for finals (the big table at the bottom of the source refs), but for these semi-finals, unfortunately they do not present this information to us. Once again, you'll need to show "Country 11th", etc for each one if you want to have it included. There really is no way around it. This is not me, it's just how Misplaced Pages works. Thoughts on WikiProject Eurovision

Hey mate, hope you're keeping well! I've been thinking for a while now about what we can do to improve the WikiProject, and maybe how to better organise it. I think a lot of this has been prompted for me by the popular pages table; it always seems odd how the majority of the most popular pages have a very tangential relationship, or even no relationship, with the Eurovision Song Contest. I'm wondering if reframing the project and being a bit more focussed in what types of articles should fall under our remit would make better sense. Still trying to crystallise my thoughts on this, hence reaching out to you first rather than jumping straight into the WikiProject talk page, and I would love to hear your thoughts on this too! @Sims2aholic8: I've thought about this a lot actually! There are many different ways the project could move in. We are a WikiProject about the Eurovision Song Contest originally, but our umbrella now includes pretty much every song contest, every event organized by the EBU, and every person, place, or entity that had a role in a contest (venue, hosts, spokespersons, commentators, etc.). There are some basic forks for staying a WikiProject:
  • WikiProject Song Contests, and we say bye to many of the other EBU contests (Magic Circus Show?), while bringing on many more (American Idol, The Voice?). It sort of felt we were going in this direction as our specially-designed templates and infoboxes were renamed and gained so much flexibility for non-ESC events. This intimidates me as it brings on a lot of work, but could also bring on new editors. Not sure if there is enough overlap in interest across the contests though.
  • WikiProject Eurovision (refocused), and we drop the emphasis on the EBU, while also trimming the tangential articles that will only have 1-2 sentences about Eurovision anyway. For example, Voice of Vietnam is always a top article in Popular Pages, but it will never have any substantial information for our WikiProject to create or patrol, and this is also while remembering that the ABU Radio Song Festival is a relatively non-notable event to begin with, it just follows a known formula so it exists here. This idea would also drop venues, spokespersons, commentators, participants of national finals, perhaps even the artists themselves (since their bios will never have enough ESC information to need to be watched by a Eurovision-focused eye).
  • WikiProject European Broadcasting Union, and we focus on the contests themselves and less on a one-off spokesperson, host or venue. This would be a much more dramatic cut to the list than above, but could also bring on some really obscure articles that editors may not care about or have a common interest in, like EBU R 128.
I think the hard part is that some editors will be 'lost' from the project as articles are moved in or out. Importantly, it has been stated many times that we may be better as a task force about Eurovision, perhaps under the umbrella of WikiProject Music. That still boots a good number of related articles and we'd need to determine whether they're still covered or if they get their own task forces. I think the most important part of a WikiProject is building an editing community focused on article improvement and consistency that can support editors through shared resources. At a minimum, I think stricter guidelines for inclusion are needed so that our project includes articles we actually want to edit, and there should at least be some sort of defined level of completion for articles that we're striving for. If we as WP Eurovision editors are not willing to get Voice of Vietnam or even Agnetha Fältskog to FA status (eventually) for example, then it's pretty clear that those article types are not of interest to the project. You're pretty much hit the nail on the head there with a lot of the thoughts I've also had. Great minds and all that! In my head, I think I was leaning towards a combination of 1 and 2 in your list. I agree that "WikiProject Song Contests" is probably where we were heading anyway, but I definitely don't think we should be expanding to include talent shows like The Voice, American Idol or The X Factor. I don't believe that these are "song contests" in the traditional sense, because there's almost no original songs happening on these shows, which I think is one of the prerequisites to classifying an event as a song contest. Additionally, I would steer clear of option 3, because I think that would open a can of worms a little bit that we might end up bogged down with technical articles like the one you included.
You make a great point around including articles within the scope of this WP to cover the articles we as a community actually want to improve. Looking at the archive of articles nominated for GA, it leans very heavily towards country and song articles, with a few artist articles as well. Of course we can't discount that the majority of editors involved within WP Eurovision aren't actually going to be interested in turning around an entire article and putting it through GA; of the articles nominated since the beginning of 2023, these have been contributed by seven editors total (and like 90% of these are the work of four editors, including us two). One artist article has been promoted to GA since 2023, and that wasn't even the work of a WP Eurovision editor. I think artists and songwriters are in a grey area where they could be justified for inclusion (artists more so that songwriters), but definitely broadcasters, venues, hosts, spokespersons, commentators, conductors, etc., I could completely justify removing from the scope of the WP. You just have to look at the quality articles page to see that the focus of the majority of our work as a collective is on articles for the contests themselves, the countries, and songs, and that individual people just aren't the main focus. Just a thought as well, if we were to refocus to a "song contest"-only perspective, this would probably also mean we remove other EBU contests, like Young Dancers and Young Musicians, and maybe even Eurovision Choir? I think there is a bit of overlap between some of those that's helpful to maintain. At a minimum, it would make sense to trim events organized by others that are solely "based on the Eurovision Song Contest", but otherwise have no connection (Intervision, ABU contests (would prefer AfD), Sopot, Caribbean, etc. Do you want to draft a formal proposal for review?
