KCAU is a television station in Sioux City, Iowa, broadcasting on NTSC Channel 9 (analog) and ATSC Channel 30 (digital).

Station History

KCAU signed on air as KVTV on March 9, 1953 as the first television station in Sioux City. KCAU was primarily affiliated with the CBS network, but it also carried programs from ABC, NBC and DuMont. It lost NBC in 1954 when KTIV signed on, and lost CBS when KMEG signed on in 1967. It has since become a primary ABC affiliate.
