Reference errors on 29 June
Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
- On the 2015 Middle East respiratory syndrome outbreak in South Korea page, your edit caused a broken reference name (help). (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:21, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Page move
Hi G8j!qKb,
Re your move of 2015 Khan Bani Saad bombing to 2015 Khan Bani Saad massacre. I would suggest in future that maybe you should open a discussion on the articles talk page first, before moving a page to a possibly 'non-NPOV' name like 'massacre'.
Misplaced Pages (WP) pages are titled according to guidelines such as wp:COMMONAME. If you have a pile of reliable sources that call an event a massacre, than you are likely on firm ground, but things like this get argued over endlessly, and can cause a surprising amount of friction.
You did explain your rationale in your edit summary which is good, but if you are reverted, please enter into talkpage discussion and seek consensus, before moving it back again.
I added the bombing to Timeline of the Iraq War (2015) myself, where I see you have also been constructively filling in references, keep up the good work. The various pages it's on now will have to be checked later to ensure the details are updated as there are already discrepancies in the number of deaths between the main article, other pages where it is mentioned like Iraq War (2014–present) (where I borrowed text and refs from for the update mentioned above) and the most recent source I saw that said 90 dead. Pretty 'normal' for events like this. Just FYI. Happy editing, regards 220 of 13:14, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

@220 of Borg: Missed post! Apparently renamed, will work on collecting reliable sources for next rename to massacre. Currently working on of Planned Battle of Mosul (2015), Talk:Planned Battle of Mosul (2015), Misplaced Pages:Articles_for_deletion/Planned_Battle_of_Mosul_(2015).. Input most welcome G8j!qKb (talk) 11:43, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
Turkey and the Next World War
I just saw in a number of websites that ISIS has started shooting at Turkish troops from the Syrian side of the border and there is are firefights somewhat like those in Kashmir. I know that you've been going to the article on the Summer 2015 Invasion of Syria and fixing some stuff. I also know that there are those who've been wanting to remove the article as it's 'crystal ball" and all that, but things are beginning to happen and in the next few days I'll need some help. You in?Ericl (talk) 22:20, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Ericl: Article should be merged into Turkish involvement in the Syrian Civil War and Jordanian intervention in the Syrian Civil War, best to keep a draft copy of article for inclusion. Next World war starts with Planned Battle of Mosul (2015), Talk:Planned Battle of Mosul (2015), Misplaced Pages:Articles_for_deletion/Planned_Battle_of_Mosul_(2015). You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for contravening Misplaced Pages's biographies of living persons policy, as you did at Contents of the United States diplomatic cables leak (Middle East). Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice:{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. — Mr. Stradivarius 15:18, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
@Mr. Stradivarius: Maybe for the future, a temporary topic ban would be more appropriate for such instances, specially for users with constructive site wide and global edits. Will take into account Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Editing of Biographies of Living Persons in future BLP related edits. 495656778774 (talk) 12:16, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
BLPs
This message contains important information about an administrative situation on Misplaced Pages. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date. Please carefully read this information:
The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.
Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Misplaced Pages, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.Template:Z33 --slakr 07:49, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Blogs
Hello again LimitationsAndRestrictions495656778774. About this edit - this is better than your edit to the page yesterday, but note that you are not usually allowed to use blogs to source statements, and you are never allowed to use them to cite statements about living people. Qifa Nabki may be ok for material that is not about living persons, as the author is a published expert in Middle-East matters, but it falls short of our standards for citations about living people. And we can't use the Lebanon Spring Blog to cite anything, as it is self-published anonymously. Also note that Misplaced Pages:Biographies of living persons applies to all Misplaced Pages pages, including talk pages - not just to biographies. So it does indeed apply to Contents of the United States diplomatic cables leak (Middle East). Best — Mr. Stradivarius 17:13, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- Aaand, I see you've added the other material back as well, in this edit. As well as some of it only being sourced to primary sources, the way you have phrased it isn't acceptable. Take the title, "Alleged corruption of Nabih Berri". It seems designed to paint him in as bad a light as possible. Your job as a Misplaced Pages editor is to faithfully represent what the balance of reliable third-party sources have said about a subject, not to be sensationalist. I'm going to edit the material to put it in line with WP:BLP. Consider this a warning - if you add more poorly-sourced claims about Berri, or if you add more negative, sensationalist prose about Berri, to any article, then I will block you for longer. — Mr. Stradivarius 17:40, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Mr. Stradivarius: Addressed first concern in regard to blog sources, added news sources from new agencies. As for second concern, section created in good faith, have nothing against the person whatsoever. Looking into your particular concerns...
- I've finished copy-editing. Actually, the sourcing was better than I thought, as the things that looked like they were only sourced to the cables were also all in the Gloria Center source. I do think that you need to take more care not to take quotes out of context, though. I've added a little context for the quotation, and also added things that the cables mentioned other than the corruption problems - if all we mention is the corruption, then it creates balance problems. We need to cover all the things that appear in the third-party reliable sources, giving them a weight appropriate to the level and quality of coverage. That will go a long way to make the writing less sensationalist and more encyclopaedic. Best — Mr. Stradivarius 19:54, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Mr. Stradivarius: Response and addressing of WP:BLP issues much appreciated. Took a close look/appreciated re-write, role model for future encyclopedic edits. Working for now on "simpler" edits (e.g. Threat) till I am ready for deep article/BLP edits. Again, thanks for attention.... 495656778774 (talk) 20:41, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Spaces in headings and trailing spaces on paragraphs
The MOS on headings says "Spaces between the equal signs and the heading text are optional, and will not affect the way the heading is displayed." That is because wikipedia pages are rendered from their underlying code. Whitespaces such as you removed from New Zealand flag debate are automatically dealt with by that process. Your edit had no visible effect to readers and was therefore pointless; I just want to point that out to you. Don't you have something better to do? Tayste (edits) 23:05, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
{{Library resources box}}
{{Library resources box}} is rarely a useful template to add to an article. Do not add it to many articles indiscriminately. —Ruud 16:49, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- Links checked individually before adding to each article, specially, online books. {{Library resources box}} was useful to me in the past, part of external links 495656778774 (talk) 16:54, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- This is a highly controversial template as it basically violates WP:ELNO #9: Misplaced Pages does in general only links to hand-picked external links and never to search engine results (the latter is however exactly what this template accomplishes). If you want to add it to a specific article you should argue the case on the talk page first. —Ruud 16:59, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Ruud Koot: You should have pointed out violation of WP:ELNO in your mass revert, much more helpful. In my opinion you should nominate Library resources box for deletion/include warning about WP:ELNO in template doc. List of pages that need to be modified/resources box removed: https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Library_resources_box&limit=500 .
- Also: Don't template the regulars. —Ruud 17:00, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

House of Flying Daggers
Shortly after you reverted, I put most of the cancelled content back up. In reality, I wasn't trying to resist your reversion, but rather, I was editing that page at the same time by a coincidence of timing. Having edited that page several days before, I came back to it today with the intention to do some further adjustments to make things more read-able. Please use that page's discussion to explain why you think your reversion is necessary, and why my contributions are low in value, and please take into account that you would be reverting the slight corrections of two others as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.51.205.196 (talk) 17:02, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

Contents of the United States diplomatic cables leak (Middle East)
Hi again. You don't need to keep reverting after requesting admin assistance for edit warring - all that does is clutter up the page history. Even though reverting sockpuppets of blocked/banned users falls under WP:3RRNO, it's still not really a good idea. (See also Misplaced Pages:Revert only when necessary.) Best — Mr. Stradivarius 12:29, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for tip, will take into account cluttering in future warring instances. 495656778774 (talk) 12:39, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

As for result, A ""Strategic victory"" proclaimed by Hezbollah and cited is just fine, can be discussed/reverted individually and not mass removal of other constructive edits.
